weight loss and medication

Bit of a strange one guys,

I take 100mg of mercaptopurine, (chemo), daily.
I have reduced my diet by 500+ calories a day.
and go the gym 4/5 times a week, (when the side effects of the meds allow).
i have seen some weight loss, but no where near what i expected.
There certainly are no visual clues to the weight loss.

Has anyone had any issues with meds, affecting weight loss. the ones i take work at a genetic level stopping my immune system from producing certain cells. wondering if I'm fighting a loosing battle, or wether to fight on with it. My doctor says don't look at the scales/body measurements etc, and just keep doing what I'm doing. but its the figures that are the encouragement when things get tough.

Thanks All

How are you calculating your calorie intake? If the answer is anything other than weighing with a food scale, you are likely eating more than you think.

I have bought some digital scales and weigh everything that doesn't come in a single portion bag/pack. this app is the one I use for logging the calories. will keep at it see how it goes.
