Have to keep a food diary/journal for the dietician to monitor before I have weight loss surgery. He suggested this app and so far so good! Easy to use which is a plus for sure.

    I love using MFP but I also keep a written daily journal as well. Good for you for joining.

    Welcome to MFP. It is in fact a great site. It's helped my husband and I both lose weight.
    I would suggest using MFP and logging your food instead of weight loss surgery. It works like a charm if you do it right. No fad diet, just proven science. Less calories in than calories out. 1000 calorie deficit = 2lbs a week lost.
    Of course I have no idea what your situation is, so I make this suggestion loosely. But weight loss surgery sounds drastic.
