Never eat out of a large bag of chips, you'll lose all portion control. If you don't have time to re-bag in ziplocks then buy the 1-person size ones, only 100 cals a bag.

Other than that, welcome! I’m still meaning to try Pop Chips.

I have done that type of thing too. Don't beat yourself up and just start again. Good job on the walk.

I just got some yesterday at target. Never seen them before but I think they are like the special K crisps but cost a lot less. I will make sure not to eat the whole bag. I hope. Oh and welcome. Its all about learning to break bad habits. You just taught yourself your first lesson. Portion control. Count out serving and put the bag away.

Chips are my weakness, I can't buy whole bags or I'll eat it all in one sitting. Pre-bagging is a good idea. I like to just figure out approx how much is in a serving, and find a container that fits only that much, so I can just pour and eat without any more measuring. :)

I usually count out the serving amount of chips, place them in a bowl, and eat them after I've relaxed on the couch. I don't eat them standing in the kitchen, because then I won't feel satisfied. If I eat them once I've sat on the couch, propped up my feet, and relaxed with whatever television show I've decided to watch, I am usually satisfied after eating the last one.

Everybody's given some great advice already! :) Make sure you either divide big bags of snack up into individual servings or go ahead and buy the smaller bags.

My advice though? Go out and walk another 2 miles!! :)

Oh yes - that is "mindless" eating! Never sit down with the entire bag - put an alloted amount into a bowl or if you like the "bag/junk" food feeling put the in a smaller bag.

I never thought of it that way. That is an excellent point! Thanks.

You know, I saw they are now selling individual bags. More expensive, but I now see they will be worth the money to me. No more pigging out. It pretty much just negated my 2 mile walk.

I pre-portion everything I buy that comes in a larger bag. My scale is very handy for weighing out one serving at a time. I buy those little bitty snack sized ziploc bags and use them to portion out everything from almonds to chips to carrots. I put all of the little baggies in a basket in my pantry and that's my "snack center". When I want something, I can go in there and grab one and I can then easily add one serving's worth into MFP. No guessing how many calories, etc. I am about to consume. It's also really helpful when I'm running out the door to throw a bag or two of snacks into my purse to stave off junk food purchases because I'm hungry later.
