Just can't seem to lose

Thanks to everyone for tips last week on managing portions, I think there's definitely been some portion creep. I travel long haul a lot and eat out, any tips on ordering and eating out? Also wondered if anyone has tips on increasing metabolism? I got an UP tracker, being better re food but soooo need to lose 30 lbs, have barely managed to lose since my second kid 4+ years ago and have had thyroid etc checked (am hypo so taking supplements).

Wouldnt count on metabolism. Very overrated excuse. Almost certainly eating at a maintenance level...

Try to use chain food places when possible, as then you can get some relatively accurate nutrition info online.

Plan in advance when eating out. For instance if I have to get fast food like Burger King I'll order a whopper but that's 760 so I'll tell them no cheese and no mayo, now that's 400 calories which is much more manageable. Chick Fil A I tell them not to butter my bun and so forth. Most chains are pretty accommodating.

When I travel a lot I make sure I stay in a hotel with a minifridge and microwave. I keep veggie burgers and steamed veggies, plus low calorie snacks in the hotel. I usually stop at a grocery store on my way to the hotel.

You're not going to be able to change your metabolic rate, not substantially.

Try to avoid processed foods. I know it's difficult, but trust me, you have to do it.

If you must eat out stick with foods without bread, sauce or starches. Half of your intake a day should consistent of veggies. About 20% protein 20% healthy fats like avocado and 10% carbs (sweet potatoes and brown rice is a good choice). Also do not drink sugary beverages.
