26yo. Female. Tx. Been married 4 years have a 4 yo daughter and an 11m old daughter. I have always had to work really hard to stay in shape. It's never been an easy thing for me. Always had to watch what I eat run daily. And workout regularly. while my friends were always super thin could actually eat whatever they wanted and always look good doing it. After I started having my babies I started gaining weight and had less time to work out.
Heart and weight issues run in my family. My father is quite healthy works out regularly. Tried to eat healthy. And not long ago he had a health issue come up. I realized I want to stick around long enough to see my girls grow up and have kids. I don't want my husband to be left with our children without me. Ect. It was quite emotional so my motivation is my family.0 -
Klp, all great reasons to keep at this and get as healthy as possible, congratulations on moving forward. I won't say good luck because there is no luck involved in this.
Me, I'm 32, male, and will be married for 2 years in 3 days. I have a 14 month old daughter and a beautiful fit wife. I spend my time working overseas, living in Canada and having fun at my property on the lake in Idaho. I was an athlete when I was younger and through a combination of getting older, working a desk job, and slowing down in life have packed on an extra 50 pounds or so.
Why am I here? Sick of being the fat guy, or as people say, "You're not fat, you're just thick". It's probably mostly vanity for me though. I want to look good at the lake with no shirt, I want to look good in bed with no clothes, and I want to be happy and proud in situations like that. Truthfully I don't really know what clicked but it did. 70 days strong and 20 or so pounds gone, I feel like I'm just starting to grab gears. Summers right around the corner and this year, for the first time, I'm going to look like I'm ready for it.

50extra, I won't even lie all of those reasons are on my mind too.... I would like to walk into a room with my husband and not feeblikenhe thinking "I swear she didn't look like this when I married her" and the same in the bedroom. I fell into a little slump. Started getting depressed. And I think that also contributed to my weight gain. Like i said I have a 4 yo and an 11 month and breastfed them both still nursing the youngest. And so that kinda meant they were with me constantly so I couldn't figure out how to work out with them. But I'm learning to do what you can when you can. It may not be what I WANT to do. I want to go to the gym and workout like I used to. Get in my zone ya know. But now me and the kids play and "dance" the things like insanity... Lol0

My name's Kate. I'm 27. I'm from Ohio. I'm aiming for 100lbs gone in a year. And I'm finally trying because I'm sick of hearing that I've got a pretty face or that I make fat work. I'll say it straight IM AN OVERWEIGHT LAZY STAY AT HOME MOM... And I'm tired of making excuses and letting myself think it's ok to be fat.. I don't want my children growing up thinking that it's ok to be fat.. I want them to see that mommy is trying her hardest to be her healthiest and for them to want the same.0

Love that answer. I must agree that's a lot of my problem too! I got lazy. It was easier to say i don't have time to workout or it easier to just eat whatever.

Kate 100lbs in a year is a huge amount to lose, I have read hundreds of success stories on here and only a few have been able to accomplish such a feat in such a short period of time. Make sure you don't get discouraged if you don't lose exactly 2 pounds per week, every single week. You have something in common with me, you are not scared to tell yourself how it really is. Many people tell there story on MFP and its never their fault that they got fat. Its always something else's fault. I'm big because I love to drink beer, eat crappy foods, and instead of filling my time up with sports and playing outside like a kid, I sit at a desk and watch TV at night. I think that it is important to take responsibility like you did in order to be successful here. Once you know the real reason why, then you can figure out the how.0
