When I started driving gas was 33 cents/gallon. The 6 in Motel 6 meant rooms were 6 dollars a night. Ice cream cones were a nickel a scoop. People looked at you while you were conversing rather than looking down at their cell phone and texting. We called men SIR and women MA'AM. Opening a door for a woman or giving up your seat wasn't considered sexist.
