I am a little hesitant I will gain a little weight when travelling. Not sure how
much I will gain?

Try not to overeat too much, and get to the hotel gym when you're on vacation. A splurge is fine, but don't use vacation as a chance to torpedo all the work you've done! There's nothing wrong with ordering a salad on vacation instead of a calorie-laden dish. Plus, I imagine you'll be sightseeing and walking around quite a bit, so you'll burn some extra calories off that way. Enjoy your vacation!

Don't obsess over it. Eat sensibly and try to stay within your deficit or your maintenance level.

Even if you don't log, any gain from traveling for a few days is mostly water weight from sodium retention and glycogen replenishment. You may be a few pounds heavier when you get home, but that quickly goes away when you get back to your routine at home.

I always gain several pounds when on vacation, despite keeping my activity level high.
It doesn't bother me, I eat what I want, don't freak out over the gain and get back on track once I'm home. Much of the weight is from sodium so that drops off within a couple of days.
    Have fun!

I'm facing a similar situation, as I'm going on a 10-day vacation in mid-April. I asked my doctor (I am a T2 diabetic) how I should handle eating. She said that while I'm in Europe I can eat as I like, since I will be doing a lot of walking, and it isn't long enough to get into trouble. We did not discuss what "as I like" means. But even before I was doing MFP, I was trying to eat mindfully, and overcome decades of binary thinking about food. There was deprivation and overindulgence, and nothing in between. I'm still trying to practice mindful eating by not automatically eating things just because I have the calories for them. I don't eat an evening snack if I'm not hungry.

I intend to do the same in Amsterdam. I would like to try their famous pancakes--I don't have to order the biggest plate they offer, or eat pancakes every day. I can order a thick sandwich for lunch one day, and a salad the next, as Abbie918 suggested.

Am I worried that I'll gain some weight? Yes, I am. Rationally, I know that it won't be very much, and that I can take it off quickly. But the part of me that's been conditioned by 50 years of yo-yo dieting is still afraid that "slipping" equals failure. It's an attitude I'm still working on.
