When did your arms change?

I'm steadily losing inches all around. But my arms are my least favorite thing to wait for. I'm 5'4'' and they are about 12.6 inches around. Pretty large for me. And they stick out. They're chubby and the fat is just staring me in the face.
Here's what they look like

Women who have reached their goal weight..... When did you notice your arms really coming back to life? How far away from your goal weight were you when you were like 'hey my arms don't look like sausages anymore!!'

I just need to look forward to that to keep me going!

I'm not at goal yet but have lost 20 lbs. My arms are very fat but I have lost inches in them because I can tell visibly but the nasty looking cellulite is still there. :( I am only 4'11" so it takes getting down to a very low weight before the cellulite starts to go away more on me.

Unfortunately for me, I have loose skin on my arms now (at the top) and those lovely (not) batwings because of it. That's probably never going away... but I'm also 14 years older than you, and I have some stretch marks there too (and subcutaneous fat LOVES stretch marks, apparently, as it's worse on my right arms where I have more of them).

For what it's worth, you're very pretty and honestly your arms don't look that bad to me, I'm sure you'll bounce back pretty easily... just keep up the good work.

Oh thank you! I do expect to have some skin to deal with eventually. But I'm just trying to get this stubborn fat off. At least I know I'm dropping pounds, so I guess one day I'll see those arms come back.

My arms look fantastic if I fold that 4" of flab up so you can't see it from the other side.

I'm pear shaped, so my upper body lost weight first. I still have flab hanging down. When I flex, they look okay, if you ignore the flab.

Even at 120 pounds I had fat arms. For me I think it's a genetic thing (if that's possible). All the ladies in my family have bingo wings.

Your arms look about where mine were when I was 20 lbs heavier (5'5" at 170, now I am at 142). What really helped me was lifting! They still aren't exactly where I want them, but the small amount of muscle definition I gained really helps to give them a nice shape. So perhaps if you haven't already and are okay to do so, add some dumbbells, pushups and pull-ups to your routine! A nice side effect of the last two exercises is that it gives your boobs some added lift since you're working out some chest muscles too. Good luck!

Yeah I agree that some strength really helps. My arms look great and have a good shape apart from the bingo wings!

When I started lifting weights consistently. I've weighed the exact same amount in the past and had pretty fat arms.

It seems like the thing that is finally helping my arms is an increase in using free weights and body weight exercises. Almost two inches from my upper arms and an inch from my forearms have gone since I started boot camp in January - lots of push ups, planks, and gradually increasing the weight for bicep/tricep/shoulder targeted exercises.
I'm still losing weight; maybe it was just time for my arms? My legs were decreasing in size at a faster rate than other areas before, so perhaps now it's my arms' turn. I'm really looking forward to my stomach/waist jumping on the bandwagon and taking a turn. . .

I'm not sure because this is the first time I have really gained weight in my arms before. But I just wanted to say, you're arms don't look as fat as you think they do. They still look pretty small to me.

Thanks. Wish I saw that :( I still look pretty tight in size mediums

I do weights a lot. I work out my triceps like a boss. Just impatient :/ I'm trying to take off 20 pounds to reach my goal right now. Trying to make it there by early to mid July... Then I'll see where my arms are at

Your arms don't look that big to me either.

I didn't take arm measurements when I started. Right now they are 11" on my upper arm, feel much firmer, sleeves are looser and they look slightly smaller. I have lost about 25 lbs. I am still 10 lbs overweight but about 30 lbs from my ultimate goal. I carry my fat in my belly.

It comes down to genetics. Just keep losing. And lifting helps a lot. Seeing muscle ripple through those arms as you move goes a long way toward defining them. But Hilary Duff is never going to have Megan Fox's upper arms, even with all the money & training in the world. Be grateful for your health!

I think around the time I got to the top of a healthy bmi I could see a big difference. I was doing some lifting and that made a difference. My shoulders look amazing at this point. :) I'm 5'2.5" and 128 lbs

I naturally don't carry weight in my upper body, when I was at a healthy weight before I gained, my arms were very slim. I didn't have Hilaey Duff arms. I wore an extra small in high school even. I'm 23 now and just carry around 25 pounds that don't belong on me. I do think my arms will be normal again... I just have to wait for that day
