I started lifting weights 30 days ago after spending about 6 months losing weight.
The 6 months was end of May 2015 to early January 2016, and focused primarily on portion control and creating healthier habits. What type of healthier habits? Non-screen activities like hiking, playing in the park with my dog, etc. In the last month, I had started doing some crunches and pushups to get some basic strength.
I got down to about 177 lbs and then my g/f's family was visiting us for a few weeks, so we partook in a lot of eating out and drinking alcohol. This brought me back to a resting weight of 183 lbs. It was at this point that I decided that I had gotten my diet and habits under control for the most part, but I wanted to work on my skinny fat-dom.
Despite having never lifted weights other than a short few month stint doing Crossfit 5 years ago, I decided to start up a gym program that comes with a meal plan for building muscle.
Now, 4 weeks later (before/after picture is for day 28, I'm day 30 now) I am back down to 179 lbs and I'm developing more muscle. This weight loss is despite the fact that I'm eating a ton of food based on the recommendation of the fitness program I'm following.
Here are my 4 week results. I'm pretty surprised at how different 4 weeks of lifting weights can make you feel. Also, it was surprising to look at how quickly my posture changed as soon as I started lifting some weights.
