Lunch Time Exercise

So I have been riding my bike around the lake for my lunch break twice (6.0 miles) or three times (8.5 miles) depending on my energy level. Does anyone else do some light lunch time exercise? How does it work for you?

Lunchtime is my go-to for exercise. Luckily we have a (very) small fitness room at work which does the trick for me.

When I worked an office job (that I hated!), I would go outside on my lunch hour and walk. Sometimes I would find stairs to climb as well. It wasn't a sweaty workout, but I certainly burned some calories. And more important, didn't eat crap out of boredom and stress. I got out in the fresh air and sunshine - it was the highlight of my day. I also went to the gym for a proper workout a few times a week as well, but I'm convinced that the mid day workout kicked up my metabolism.

I workout at work at lunch most weekdays. We are fortunate to have a small, well stocked gym. It works fairly well overall but with only 1 Olympic bar & no power/squat rack I always need to go ready with a backup plan & leave off any heavy squatting for the gym I have a membership at.

Small habitual changes like putting your lunch hour to good use instead of hanging around your desk/break room wasting time will make a good long-term difference, those little lifestyle tweaks give you good habits, I think.

I work in an office and often it ends up I work through and before I know it, it's 3pm and I haven't eaten or done anything active. I have an injury too so I'm a tad grumpy..... BUT I've joined a gym and from today (although it's already 13:15 here) I'll be heading to said gym just for an hour blast of cardio.
    Exercise lifts my mood!

Time limited, but not light ;)
I've got a couple 2-4 mile loops I run a couple times a week when I double up from my morning run.

Oh man, I couldn't go back to work if I pushed that hard. I sweat really badly.

If I had an hour for lunch, I could see doing this in the cold months. But in summer? No way - unless my boss wouldn't mind having a soaking wet, sweaty mess sitting outside her office.

I work in a company where we have a small gym and showers but I realized it got me stressed hurrying up after a class to shower to go back to work and sometimes directly to a meeting. Fortunately, we also have a trail outside so I opted to just do power walks now with hand weights during my lunch time...it clears my head and reinvigorates me and I don't need a shower afterwards. I leave the intense workouts for my other gym times outside of work. Also to keep me moving at my desk I have a deskcycle (bought it at Amazon and its quiet and has resistance) so I can pedal my feet while I type and not feel stagnant.

I usually take a 18-40 minute walk during lunch. I work in a downtown area with a skyway, so I can walk whatever the weather is. I don't count it as my "actual exercise," but just a way to clear my head/get some activity midday.

I usually cycle at lunch...I usually do anywhere from 15 - 20 miles depending on my pace and time constraints. If we forgo our breaks we get 30 minutes per day for exercise leave plus my lunch hour.

I keep baby wipes and deodorant in my office so I can clean up when I'm done.

I do a 10-15 minute exercise video on my lunch. I just find an empty office or unoccupied room and do it there. Enough for me to burn about 100cals but not be a hot sweaty mess.

I've got a membership at a gym near my office, so I run during lunchtime a few times a week. I can run 2-3 miles, take a quick shower, and be back at my desk in an hour. It's honestly the ONLY way I can get in a run, sometimes. I just bring my lunch those days and eat at my desk when I get back.

On the days I don't run, I at least get a walk in. Houston has a tunnel system downtown, so even in the 110 degree heat of summer, you can take a pretty long walk in air-conditioned comfort!

I've got a 1mi loop that I walk, 1x in the morning and 1x in the afternoon. I call it my sanity break!
