hi I'm 140 and I am 5 foot 6 and I have the hardest time losing weight. Often people tell me that I don't look my weight and look thinner than what the scale says but it does not budge!!! At the moment I eat whatever I want and I am able to maintain my weight because I'm busy and move around a lot but I don't have a serious work out routine and i can only give 30 minutes a day to exercise max. I'm having trouble with losing ten pounds and really want to! Any advice for how to get going on this? The only thing that seems to work is high protein no carb diets and to be honest its not going to work for me long term because it's a little too extreme for my liking. Help!

Since you are already at a healthy weight. Perhaps it would make more sense to work on strength training so that you are happier with how you look?

This. You're not overweight. If you're unhappy with your body, it's probably because you have little muscle. Lift

Yeah I need to do lifting but really don't know where to start when it comes to exercise and how much time should I be dedicating per week to see results? And I think I would really be happier at a lower weight as well... Do you guys have tips for what a work out routine using weights in terms of time commitment would look like?

You can absolutely do exercises at home. You'll probably outgrown your 8 lb free weights pretty quickly and want to upgrade to 10 or 15. (I have the dumbbells from Golds that you can buy the weight plates separately and just up my weights as I increase strength.) Here's a great 15 minute a day starter video- as you build up, you can increase weight for strength and time for more stamina!

There is your problem. Do you track calories at all? Most people can't lose weight by eating whatever they want (without tracking). You need to either eat less or move more if you are maintaining right now. At your weight and height, it wouldn't be unhealthy for you to lose 10 or so lbs, but I agree with others that a weightlifting routine with high protein at your maintenance calories would help you achieve the look you are going for.
