Over 6mos I lost 37lbs.0

I've had varying results at different points in my life.
Before we TTC, I did WW to lose 20 lbs and it took me 6 months.
Postpartum (full-term twins), I had gained 54 lbs. I lost 35 lbs right away, put a little back on (convenience/stress eating in the early months) and it took me 3.5 years to get back to pre-pg weight. That last 10 lbs was by far the toughest. When I finally tried a low-carb diet, I lost 13 lbs in 6 weeks.
More recently, I gained about 20 lbs after a med change. I struggled for over a year to lose and would lose maybe a pound or two but ended up gaining more. Once I finally found a way of eating that really worked for me at this point in life (low carb/high fat/adequate protein), I started Nov. 2 and lost 23 lbs by March. I'm currently gradually increasing my calories til I hit maintenance level.

A year and 1/2 to lose 50, then over the last 4 years I've tripped up now and then and had to back track a bit. Orginally I went from 193 to 143. At 143 I realized keeping it was a bit unattainable, so I allowed myself a cap of 155 (I'm 37 and 5'11"). For the last 2 years I've maintained between 155 & 148. (155 being winter and 148 is my preferred summer weight).
What I found was giving yourself a goal (like i want to lose 40lbs) is great. When you start saying I want to lose 40lbs in 6 months, it's a slippery slope. This whole thing is one BIG learning experience. You will trip up and you won't be perfect, we are human after all. And who really cares how long it takes? What matters is that you DO IT.0 -
One year and seven months to get to my goal. In that time I lost 45lbs (pregnancy weight), then I lost 10 more lbs, was too thin so I bulked and gained 10lbs back, then I cut and lost 3lbs to arrive at my goal physique. Mind you I wasn't 100% happy but I was pretty satisfied with the results.
Now after another pregnancy, only 2 months postpartum I am 5lbs away from my prepregnancy weight but my physique will need some work. I know I won't make the same mistake again and cut down too much like I did the first time so I may decide to recomp soon.0 -
I started at 220lb on June 1 2015 with a goal of 175lb (5'11"). I hit my goal weight of 175lb on Jan 23rd according to trendweight.com, and the last time I weighed in over 175lb was the 25th. I then reset my goal to 170lb and hit that on Mar 28th (trendweight) and currently weigh 168lb.
I think I'm going to take it down to 165lb before I maintain there for a while and then slowly work on adding weight (as in 0.5lb/week or less) until I get to at least 175 if not 180lb.0 -
I lost ~40 lbs in exactly 160 days on mfp last Sunday, but I agree, don't set your self up for failure if your loss is slower. I had no goal in mind when I started, just wanted to lose a little weight but it was way easier than expected so I kept going.0

It took me two years to get where I am now (a little over 60 pounds lost) with my goal weight changing several times over the course of those two years. Basically I would hit what I thought was my goal, only to find I wasn't happy with the way I looked. So I kept going. At this point I'm not concerned with the number on the scale so much as my body fat percentage, so my goals have shifted to building muscle.0

It took me 15 months to drop 50 - 53 lbs (fluctuations). I've been at a healthy BMI since February of 2015 and then dropped some additional weight. Transitioned into maintenance a couple of months ago. I'm planning on staying where I am for a few more months and then cut again. I went from 179 to 126 - 128. I'm 5'2.5" and 66 years old. I'd like to get to around 120 - 124 lbs; right in the middle of my healthy weight range.0

Lost 65# in about 10 months.0

24lbs in about 4.5 months. I've been maintaining now for a month. I went from 130lbs to 106lbs.
I was grying to lose 1lb per week....but I was convinced my fitbit was wrong and I purposely didn't eat all my exercise calories back. Then I noticed I was losing 1.5 to 2lbs a week. I upped my calories to aim for 1 to 1.5lbs per week. Then 0.5 to 1lb per week. Then 0 to 0.5lb per week...and finally maintenance. Turned out my fitbit is pretty accurate and I really do burn around 2200 to 2500 calories per day.0 -
I just met my goal weight and it took me 14 months. I lost 40 pounds...184.8 to 144.80

Started in the fall of 2012, hit original goal weight in April of 2013. Then I spent several months transitioning into maintenance and also losing a few more pounds. Called final goal in fall of 2013. Been maintaining pretty well since then, except for a few pounds that I gained over this past winter (I stopped tracking/paying attention to portion sizes and I went from being a daily weigher to putting my scale in the closet after Christmas ). Now back at it and getting focused again!
Starting bmi was high 20s, current bmi is 20.9.0
