Alternatives to dairy and soy?

Hello!
Can anyone suggest good dairy and soy alternatives? For cooking and baking but also to add to coffee and tea, to add to cereal etc. Anything out there like yogurt? I'm trying to eliminate dairy and soy to see if it helps with my baby's eczema. Thanks!

There are coconut and almond milk yogurts available now, although they don't have as much protein as yogurt made from dairy or soy. I'm a big fan of coconut milk cream for tea/coffee.0

@janejellyroll thank you! Does the coconut milk affect the taste? Are the coconut and almond yogurts available in reg. Grocery stores or only in specialty stores?0

I like almond milk for coffee. I tried coconut creamer and could not taste or see a creamy look. I have have heard that ground flax seed meal mixed with a little bit of water (let it sit for five minutes to let it gel) is a good egg replacement. Also, I have seen puréed banana or applesauce as an oil/butter replacement.0

coconut, rice, almond, even oat milks!
I've seen at my normal grocery store coconut yogurt, almond milk yogurt, and a few others. Personally, i think they taste fantastic (especially the coconut, but i love coconut flavor so i'm biased).0 -
I don't drink milk and have tried soy, almond, rice, coconut, flax, hemp, hazelnut, cashew milks. My favorite is original unsweetened cashew milk (the only kind I can drink straight up and really like) second choice is Almond Plus unsweetened/unflavored ( has 5 gm protein per serving vs usually 1 gm). I'm OK with other non dairy milk but use them in smoothies, cereal, hot cocoa etc.
I also use almond creamer, eat non dairy ice cream like Cashew or almond milk ice cream. There are some decent almond milk yogurt and coconut milk yogurts out there. Many larger grocery stores are carrying some non dairy items, some I get from my local co-op, TraderJoes or Whole Food.0 -
Coconut yogurt is good, tastes sweet and creamy.
Coconut creamer is good too.
Coconut oil is nice to cook with also.
Coconut Icecream is good too.
Also- almond milk and almond creamer.
They gave it at Whole Foods and Trader joes, not sure about other stores.0 -
Thanks everyone! I will check out what i can get at my grocery store tomorrow.0

Nuts are far more allergenic than either dairy or soy so I'd avoid the almond milk. I'm also assuming you are breast feeding so your baby is getting optimum milk from you. I can't imagine what is in dairy milk that isn't in yours. The difference is merely in proportion. Human milk has more lactose.
If you want to cut dairy from your diet then I suggest switching to water with a calcium supplement with vitamins A and D. Get your protein from meat.
Soy is simply a vegetarian protein substitute. You could switch to pea protein if you like.0 -
Silk Cashew milk.0

Few dairy substitutes taste exactly the same as what they're replicating. Being made from coconut or almond milk will impact the taste of a product.
It really depends on what your regular grocery store is like. I can get coconut milk yogurt at my regular grocery store, but I live in a neighborhood that is kinda gentrified.0
