My weight fluctuates between 105-110....

It used to be between 110-115. So how to I actually keep track of my weight? And how much weight have I lost? I weighed myself 3 times yesterday, I was 110, 105 and then 108. Also, does anyone know of a really accurate scale for around $40?

Was that three times in a row or different times throughout the day?
I only weigh once first thing in the morning after using the restroom and do not step on again until the next day.0 -

Target digital scales aren't too bad. I got one for about $20 and it's accurate to 0.2 lbs.0

Most scales are accurate. Weigh yourself at the same time each day to get an average of your weight. When I weigh myself, I do it first thing in the morning - after using the facilities and before I take a drink of water. My weight stays the same. So, if I get on the scale one more and it's higher, I know I put on weight.
Weighing yourself through out the day - you need to realize that you've eaten and drank fluids. 1 liter of water can add up to 5 lbs on the scale.0 -
I got my scale at target. Its glass and its Taylor (I think) and I love it. It does weight in tenths so it shows minor differences and it was like 30 bucks I think.0

I agree with the others. Only weight in the morning and don't for the rest of the day. I use to do the same thing and I saw the same weight changes throughout the day. It all has to do with if you just ate or drank and in the evening you are going to be a little heavier than morning time. I have even noticed that I could weight in the morning and that evening go for a 3-4 mile run and when I weight myself I am 3-5 lbs less than that morning. That's because of all the water weight being quickly shed but once I rehydrate myself and rest the night I am back to normal in the morning.0

my weight fluctuates HUGELY depending on the time of day, what i ate, when i went to the bathroom, what part of my monthly cycle i'm in, and even with what kind of exercise i did... i fluctuate from 56kg all the way to 61kg, depending on the situation! @_@0

As the other posters have mentioned, it's important to weigh yourself around the same time each day, preferably in the morning, after you've used the bathroom but before you've eaten breakfast.
Even then, your weight will fluctuate on a day-to-day basis - which makes sense because our bodies are pretty variable machines, and weight depends on a great deal of things including how much water your body is retaining, how long it's been since you've had a bowel movement, etc...
So how do you keep track of how much you "really weigh" or how much weight you've lost?
Well, what I do is keep a spreadsheet.
In one column I record my weight each morning. In the next column, I take that day's weight, plus the previous four day's weights, and add them together (so five weigh-ins in total), then divide by 5 to get the average over the past five days.
The next day I take that day's weigh-in and add it to the previous four... etc. (It's easy to do in a spreadsheet once you've entered the formula in once, you just click and drag down).
That's my "moving average", and that's the more important number: if it is on a downward trend, then I am going in the right direction. So even if I am up a couple of pounds one or two days, it gets "smoothed out".
Does that make sense? I find it the most useful way to keep track of my progress.0 -
I have a health-o-meter that I got at walmart for just under 40 bucks. It also shows body fat, hydration level, bone mass, and keeps track of how much weight I've lost! it's awesome and worth the money!0

that's why i had to hide my scale. weighing myself too many times in one day will eventually give me a stroke from stress!
i've gained up to 10 pounds in one day only to lose it by the next0 -
Best to weigh yourself at the same time of day each time, and take a running mean (i.e. take your weight as the average of the last 7 days) rather than paying any attention to fluctuations. The other alternative is to weigh yourself only once a week or once a fortnight, so that you don't see the day to day (or hour to hour) fluctuations.0

My weight typically varies by 4# and I don't always exercise at the same time of day, etc. to automatically assume that it is due to dehydration, etc.
If you are that close to your goal, perhaps you should switch to a Body Fat % goal instead of pounds, particularly since that range of 5# is already 5% of your body weight...

Honestly, at your weight, I wouldn't worry! It looks as though you are in a healthy weight range (unless you are very very short), so I would pay attention to the range (say between 105/110) rather than the actual number. If you go under or over this range it might be worth doing something, otherwise it would be better to pay attention to making sure you have established good habits of eating and exercise and how your clothes fit rather than an arbitrary number on the scale.0

At this point, you really should measure body fat and inches (chest, hips, waist abs, upper arms, thighs, buttox). It is a more effective way to determine your health. Also, weigh fluctuates 5 or so lbs a day. Weigh yourself in the morning when you first wake up if you want a more accurate reading.0
