Currently taking six star whey protein from Walmart, it tastes great and has 30g per serving. Is this a good protein? ????

It's what I have in my cupboard. I don't use it regularly, but for the price, taste, and nutrient stats, I like it.

Same here, was just wondering if there was anything better for the same price.

I get the Body Fortress powder from Walmart. I think it's like $18 for a container? Works for me.

I believe it is one of the brands indicated in protein spiking and contamination.

I believe so as well...but I'd have to do a little research to be sure.

    Yes.

OP - get on bodybuilding.com and shop sales. Very good prices for higher quality proteins without the contamination and nitrogen spiking issues.

If you want to know how good your protein powder is, look at the grams of protein per serving listed in the nutritional details, multiply it by 4 and then divide by the calories per serving. This will give you your protein % per serving, the more protein, the better. Stay away from stuff that list 'proprietary blends' etc because they contain fillers and whey concentrates and flavoured isolates will contain slightly less protein and more carbs than their pure counterparts.
Is your protein worth the money? simply divide the pack price by the servings per pack to give you a cost per serving figure.

    So, as an example..
An old Whey Concentrate i used to use - 30g of protein per 45g serving = 66% protein @ 68 pence per serving (1kg bag).
My current unflavoured Whey Isolate - 23g protein per 25g serving = 94% protein @ 48 pence per serving (1kg bag).
My current flavoured Whey Isolate - 21g protein per 25g serving = 92% protein @ 43 pence per serving (2.5kg bag)

My current whey isolate is £5 more expensive than the old Whey Concentrate but content and cost per serving wise it's superior

Hope that helps you in trying to decide what protein powder to look at.
