New mum - 2nd time on MFP. Weight not coming off

Hi everyone!
I've just had my second baby in January. During 2014/2015 I lost nearly 2 stone / 28 pounds on MFP and doing C25K.
I started both again about 5 weeks ago and so far the weight just isn't coming off. I know sleep deprivation can be a factor in stalled weight loss so trying not to get too down. Looking for a bit of motivation any other new mums in the same boat?

Yep! I'm in the same boat. My first baby is 8 weeks. I'm knackered, getting no sleep and scoffing chocolate by the truck load. Was diabetic during my pregnancy and was really strict about what I ate. Since having my daughter I have lost motivation to eat healthily and have put on more weight than I actually gained when pregnant.
Not getting any exercise and tbh I don't think it's realistic to try to fit loads in at the mo. I'm too tired and baby is priority.
Need to lose about 10lb - to start with.
Looking for support with motivation and weight loss and a bit of mutual sympathy for the sleepless nights! Ha ha.0 -
Background: I'm a mom of two. My kids are older now, 7 and 9. But I remember the struggle well. With my first I was unemployed and had no car so I walked everywhere and that certainly helped. I didn't feel like walking but I had to. I didn't walk after the second baby and gave up on healthy eating as well. I gained 50 pounds which I am just now getting serious about losing.
But one thing that I have learned through it all is that my body changed (everyone's does in some way) and I really wish I would have spent more time loving myself where I was than looking at myself and only seeing the physical things I wanted to change. I did get comfortable with the way I look but it took many years. My focus now is to get healthy, not skinny. My grandma, mom and both aunts are diabetic. I also have back and knee problems. So I do need to slim down, but I don't want to concentrate on my looks. Feel free to add me as a friend, I don't have any on MFP yet.☺0 -
Hi, sorry I've only just seen this message from you! Your story rings so true to me. I have a 10 year old as well as the new baby. I've just want to be fit and healthy enough to run around the park after him and not be the chubby mummy that can't keep up. Also want to make sure I'm in the best possible health to be around for them as long as I can be! Will add you now. It's nice to have a little motivation and support from others.
Nice to meet you. Helen0 -
Feeling the same here. My third will be 9 months this week, and I want so desperately to get my weight under control. I lost all of the her baby weight with breastfeeding, but I was already well overweight before I got pregnant. I need to lose 70 to be my healthy weight. However, that amount seems so impossible that I have given up over and over again. I'm trying a new tactic this time. I'm going for 20 pounds by July. I have a desk job and don't get home until supper time. Finding time for exercise with a new baby and kids in elementary school is so tough. I would love some support too. Feel free to add me.0

Having my baby in May! Trying to stay active and not gain too much weight while pregnant, and then planning to really try to lose weight after she is born. Would love people to add me for support! I gained lots of weight before being pregnant. Lost almost 60lbs using the website a couple of years ago and gained it all back (and then some)0

Hi guys! I'm 6 months pregnant with my first and chagrined that I took pregnancy as license to eat whatever the heck I wanted. Now I've gained 45 pounds (and I was not thin to begin with) and I am soooooo uncomfortable! Of course I won't try to actually lose weight while pregnant, but I think it will be healthiest to just sort of plateau and not continue gaining so quickly. Right now my goal is to lay off the junk food, cake and cookies, and eat lots of fruits, vegetables, protein, and overall nutritionally dense meals. The hardest thing is that I really don't feel up to exercising, I was a pretty dedicated endurance athlete before I got pregnant and now I do maybe 30 minutes a day of light exercise on my commute (so not nothing at least!) but otherwise am completely sedentary.
Good luck to everybody and I could really use support from moms who have been there!

Hi all! Feel free to add me. I'm 3 months pregnant and trying to keep my legs and arms reasonably slim. Bingo wings aren't going to help your fetus!! Ha! I'd definitely like support. It's not always easy to exercise when I'm not feeling great. And hard to eat well when my taste buds tells me veggies taste like poison. Fortunately pasta, bread, and crackers taste digusting too.0

Congratulations!!
I luckily craved veg during pregnancy! Although stopped counting calories mid pregnancy which was my downfall!1 -
