Help me decide. Am I moderately active or lightly active?

I'm trying to set a daily caloric intake and I can't decide if I'm "lightly active"(they give the example of salesman) in my daily routine or "moderately active" (example: waitress). I'm a hairstylist, I'm on my feet 8+ hours per day but mostly only walk around the salon. However, I don't just stand. I'm cutting, doing foils, shampooing, blow-drying (I'm sure most guys won't understand this part, but round-brushing out super long/thick hair can potentially really work your arms).

I'm much more physically tired at the end of the day hairdressing then I ever was as a bartender, but I've never been a waitress either. I need some people to weigh in because its a 200/day caloric difference!

Right now I selected the lower of the 2 and I'm eating about 1400 calories per day. But I'm concerned because I also tend to hit a plateau with my weight and I don't feel like 1400 leaves me much room to drop my calories as I continue on my weight loss journey.

*Additional info: I commute to work via bike about 3 times per week (45-50 miles per week) and go to the gym. I don't factor my work outs into my caloric intake currently. I have a slow metabolism, hypo-active thyroid (yes, I'm on medication) and low human growth hormone (which I do not take medication for...but probably should, just trying to handle it naturally first).

I'd start with lightly active and see how it goes. If you are always hungry then I'd switch to moderate. Good luck.
