You've eaten Konjac, but have you *seen* Konjac?!
I thought you guys might get a kick out of seeing an Amorphophallus konjac. I mean, sure, you've eaten them--shirataki noodles, fiber supplements, Glucomannan--but have you ever seen them grow?!
Here is a picture of my (probably) 3 year old A. konjac from last year. It has two phases, a leaf phase (shown here) and a floral phase (which I have yet to see). The flower smells a little like sewage and last for only a few days (they are pollinated by flies). They grow from a bulb-like tuber called a corm. This corm stores energy and nutrients for the plants winter resting phase. During which time I dig it up, divide off its little offset baby corms and store them safe from rot until spring to plant again.
So you are eating the corm of this plant. NEAT!!![9rlsc1ahav6p.jpg](https://us.v-cdn.net/5021879/uploads/editor/sc/9rlsc1ahav6p.jpg)
Before it's leaves unfurled it looked a little like baby Groot.![oqvc5m8a5cr5.jpg](https://us.v-cdn.net/5021879/uploads/editor/it/oqvc5m8a5cr5.jpg)

It's kind of fun! I used to have a Hoodia gordonii. But I accidentally over watered it.
