How do you track/log your calories? Do you use a digital kitchen scale, etc?

I'm with you on this one, I've been plateau'd since October 2015 when I had an accident. I'm walking a couple of miles daily, eating 12-1300 calories, not eating back my exercise calories, but I haven't budged...... on a plus note though, I haven't gained...... but its so frustrating.

I've tried changing my foods, upping calories, lowering calories, you name it.... but nope, nothing's shifting. I weigh my foods, remove any excess fat, skin etc but every week the result is the same - my scales are stuck!

It will happen in time I know, but like you, I'm pretty frustrated about it at the moment.

All we can do is keep eating well and exercise, eventually something has to give.

So this is so me in 2013 when I lost 39 pounds in like three months. then I took three more months to lose 5, and then another to lose 2 more. I stayed firm with the calories, and just kept upping my activity level...

So you lost that first 45 VERY fast! In just a smidge over 2 months? Maybe the plateau is your body doing a "whoah slow down" and you'll start losing again after your metabolism stabilizes. Just a thought.

Well, I'm going the other way with this.

I needed to lose about 70 pounds. I started at 1200 calories. That worked well for the first 40 pounds, then I got stuck there. I was miserable and tired, too.

So I ate more. I was shooting for 160 pounds as a goal, so I changed my calories to 1600 a day. That worked. I started losing again, and felt much better. When I got within 10 pounds of my goal I lowered back down to 1400.

I always ate the (additional) calories given for exercise on this site, too.

OH! Maybe eat some meat daily for a while and be sure to weigh the fruit, too.

I would try increasing your calorie intake slightly. You need fuel for your metabolism to get fired up! I eat around 1600-1700 cals a day and do about 30-40 mins of exercise (either weight training or cardio) and can generally lose about 1-2lbs a week. I currently weigh in the mid 150's. Also, try switching up what you are doing in the way of exercise. I always try to work that little bit harder or further for my runs, or mix up the exercise like yoga, take a class at the gym, elliptical, stair master etc. Keep your body guessing.
