This is just a post for other new moms to share their goals and journeys to weight loss after having their little ones.
My name is Sam. My son Eligh will be 5 months on the fourth of April. We are exclusively breast feeding until he reaches 6 months and plan to continue breast feeding until he's old enough for cow's milk. My son was 9 lbs 14 oz when he was born so I had put on a ton of weight during my pregnancy. Now I'm trying to get healthy for not only myself but so when my son is running around I will be able to keep up in those toddler years! I had my first pp workout about 4 weeks ago. It's going to be a slow process but I feel amazing in my first few weeks (and very sore!). Weight loss will also be second on my list of goals since keeping my son breast fed is my first until we hit that 12+ month mark. So for now, I am focusing on my strength and hoping some pounds will fall with that. I can't wait to connect with other mothers and hear about your goals as well!

Hello! I have a 3 month old baby girl. Gained 25-30 with pregnancy and although I lost 15 right after the delivery (she was 8.5 lbs) I have been surprised that the majority of the weight has since stuck around and maybe even gained a little since being home! I was hoping to lose with exclusive breastfeeding but as she turns 3 months I am realizing that I may need to take a more proactive approach to get the weight off. Would love to make friends through the MFP app to share encouragement, feel free to add me!0

Pre pregnancy I was around 155-160 in maintenance mod after loosing 60+lbs on MFP from being 212lbs. Started fall 2012.
When she was born I was back up to 204 lbs. Could not workout when pregnant due to health issues.
She was 5lbs 15oz
I had dropped 30lbs within 2-3 weeks.
She is 6 months now I am 157lbs as of a week or so ago, body fat is up 3% though from 157lbs previously due to lifting heavy previously and not being back to that yet.
New goals 145-150lbs then maintenance and keep lifting. Starting lifting again this week.0 -

Hi! My son Marshall will be 5 months April 11th. I gained 25 pounds during my pregnancy. I lost 22 pounds so far but I got at least 50 pounds pre-pregnancy weight I need to lose too.0

I'm experiencing the same. Pre pregnancy I am 135ish, but right now I'm 165. My twins are 4 months and I've been EBF. Lost an initial 20 lbs quickly but still need to lose another 20-25 lb. I'm pretty sure I've gained some, too. I thought nursing twins would be beneficial to helping me lose this baby weight but I think it's actually being counterproductive. This article helped me better understand why this might be happening. Hope it helps you!! http://betterbydrbrooke.com/why-didnt-i-lose-weight-when-breastfeeding/ I actually just joined MFP today to help track how many calories I'm actually taking in each day.0

Hello, I breastfed my son for a little over a year. When I was nursing him I couldn't wait to finish just so I can go to the gym on a regular basis and get my pre pregnancy body back. I only had 15 more pounds to lose at that time. So once he turned a year I slowly started weaning him off. Once he was on regular milk, and I can actually focus on myself I packed on 30 pounds. Yup, 30 pounds. I'm still struggling to lose now 45 pounds. I don't know if There are other moms like me, but I found that I was still consuming a large amount of food and wasn't burning it how I was when I was nursing. Which made me pack on the pounds within a year. My son is now 2 and I'm slowly getting back into losing the weight. I know the struggle of trying to lose the extra weight we put on from pregnancy. I hope you achieve your goal, and just keep in mind what you're consuming after you stop, learn from my mistake0

Hi all! Just had my first baby on Jan 20. I was hoping to BF but that didn't work out so couldn't benefit from the weight loss it promotes. I want to work out, I even have the help I need to take advantage of the workout time. But to be honest ... I have no motivation. I'm always so tired taking care of my baby. Yes even with all the help, I choose to do everything myself. In really considering a quick fix like the B6 B12 injections and limiting my calories. Any thoughts?0
