I really didn't know which category I should post this in? Please, forgive me if I am posting this in the wrong category. I am just curious, has anyone every signed up for Heathywage? I am seriously looking into this for motivation to stay on track with my weight loss. I understand it is a financial commitment with a reward in achieving your weight loss goal. Would like to hear some feedback on Heathywage. Thanks for your honest opinions.

Tell me more about it! I'm using the Pact app. Basically you make a bet each week that you will track (x) number of meals and/or (x) number of workout days. If you meet your goal you win a small amount of money (usually less than $2), but if you don't pay your goal you lose whatever amount you've bet. It's motivating for me! The winnings aren't a big deal, but I sure don't want to have to pay!0

Sounds like a potential scam....0

A friend of mine did Healthy Wage. She bet $50 a month that she would lose almost 80 pounds in 8 months and if she did, then Healthy Wage would pay her $1400. She did!!! Of course you have to do the pictures/videos of yourself standing on a scale holding that day's newspaper when you start and when you meet your goal. She chose to count calories, did a couple of Whole 30s, and started running to help meet her goal.
So if money motivates you, then go for it!0 -
So how do the operators make money?0

Because people lose their bets, they don't actually lose weight so they get nothing. Also on the team challenge every player pays $75, 5 players per team, last round there were over 400 teams and the prizes total $29k. They brought in $150k at least and they earn interest on that cash for 9 months and then say 90% of folks managed to keep off their 10% lost weight and remember to weigh in the last time (probably generous). Still some pretty sweet profit! Their site is terrible; slow and buggy. I can't imagine it takes too many humans to run things now that the infrastructure is in place, wish I had thought of this kind of business model first0

I don't use Healthywage but have had some good experiences with Dietbet. I like the 6 month transformer challenges, slow and steady.0
