Please do not trust MFP to track micronutrients.

Often times people fill in just calories or macros, and leave stuff like potassium blank , which could lead to the false belief that a particular food contains no potassium or whatnot. Normally I would not care if a random person was trying to use MFP to track micronutrients...but in your case , that misunderstanding could be lethal . So whatever you use on MFP, please verify from an outside trusted source.

Sorry if I'm already stating the obvious, but it's just too dangerous not to mention :(
I dont know if there are any dialysis/renal/chf groups on mfp that have some way of dealing with this?

(as an aside to the whole world of MFP, please ,can everyone out there at least *try* to submit completely and accurately as possible? if you want to submit a sloppy and incomplete entry, for the love of god can you keep it to yourself. thanks)

Ex: Look at a can of beans.
You know they have a lot of potassium.
But if you look at the label, there is no place for potassium.
Therefore the people that input that data (us - the users) cannot input potassium into this program.
    Ex 2: Skim milk.
Few labels will tell you the potassium content.
If I wanted to input a new item into this database, I would have to guess by looking at other websites.

Note: I learned that if you rinse a can of beans in lots of water in a colander, you can reduce the sodium content by 40%. Buy low sodium anyway.
My favorite potassium rich food are skim milk and V-8 low sodium.
