I eat LeanCuisines/Healthy Choice meals for lunch...all under 400 calories and delicious! I also did toast with hardboiled egg and avocado that was under 400 calories over the weekend...but I had to weigh everything because avocado is my weakness and I would have gone over 400 calories on that meal if I had as much as I wanted :)

I don't know where you are located but I suggest Yummly to find recipes. It is an app but also a website. There you can search for meals, what you are feeling, and filter to under 400 calories and whatever macros you need to adjust. I have found a lot of awesome recipes that fit the bill!

For 400 I can make myself a serving of homemade Mac and cheese (starting with 2oz dry pasta), or 2 cups of broth based soup and 2 pieces of wheat bread, or some grilled chicken with a nice veggie side, or a chicken and veggie stir fry over brown rice.... Don't be afraid to get creative, lots of foods are under 400cal and as long as you don't make it a five course meal the entire meal can stay under that.

One of my favorites: Cut up some chicken breast, marinate it in buffalo sauce, cook it up. Place it on a large leaf of romaine lettuce and add a little avocado, some cut up tomato, and bell peppers.

Overall, not entirely sure if it'll be 400 calories, as it depends on how many you eat, but it is quite low cal and contains a lot of nutrition.

If trying to make meals with fewer calories, simply avoid overly fatty foods and starchy carbohydrates. Those two typically have the most calories in a standard meal. (There are always exceptions)

Hi! My meals are all usually in the 300-450 range. Every other week I'll look up some recipes for meals and prep stuff on Sunday for the next week to keep it interesting.

For example - my foods for this week will be:

Breakfast: protein oatmeal muffins [loosely based off this recipe http://www.thehealthymaven.com/2015/02/customizable-protein-packed-oatmeal-cups.html]],
Lunch: turkey chili [mine works out to be about 375 a serving],
Mid-afternoon meal: chicken salad made with greek yogurt on endive pieces [http://damndelicious.net/2012/11/07/lightened-up-greek-yogurt-chicken-salad-sandwich/]
Dinner: london broil with sweet potato

Last week I had boneless pork chops marinaded in balsamic vinegar, beef stew, and turkey sandwiches...Sometimes it helps to pick a meat I haven't had in a while and base the meals around that.

Good luck! This doesn't have to be boring!

I just made a delicious Asian chicken/veggie stir fry. Even with rice it was 422 calories. I also love making crockpot chili. So yummy and I can eat a large portion for less than 400 calories.

I just had a tortilla with cream cheese and canned salmon for 470 calories. The calories could be trimmed down by choosing a different tortilla (mine was 210 calories).

I make skinny pizza with a tortilla as my base.
I use whatever meat I have as left over on TOP of it with veggie, cheese and then pop it in the oven for maybe 10 mins.

Soups with toast (I love making pumpkin soup.... So simple makes a large batch. 1 pumpkin, cup of milk, salt and pepper, cumin, herbs, stock, boil then blend using a hand blender.

Also like doing salads ... With a protein and dressing
