Water... What have you noticed?

What did you notice when you stopped drinking pop, or soda? I've noticed that I don't get heartburn nearly as much as I did before I stopped. I also have noticed the skin around my eyes isn't as dark as it used to be... This is going on 2 weeks strong. Can't wait to see what else changes.

My skin looks brighter and it does not need as much body cream as before

I haven't had more than probably 5 cans of pop since I was about 12. Still ate like a horse and gained weight, lol. But that's one good habit anyway.0

Like you, my heart burn has greatly reduced. It is also one of the bigger triggers for my interstitial cystitis, so controlling my soda (and other acidic food intake) means far fewer and less severe flare ups. I now stay better hydrated.0

I didn't really notice anything.0

My skin is definitely smoother. I have Keratosis Pilaris on my arms, which means I have a lot of rough patches and small, acne-like bumps. It's not too severe but I've pretty much had it my whole life.
Anyways, back to the no soda/pop. Since I've started drinking a gallon or more of water, only water, a day about 3 months ago I can 100% tell the difference. The bumps have drastically gone down, I love feeling my arms. It's amazing!
Also I pee a bunch more than when I drank soda.0 -
I noticed a big change this winter. In winters past, my dry skin would hurt so much that I would scratch it until it bled. This winter, that hasn't happened. I've also come to realize that I spent the first 40 years of my life dehydrated. I'm really pushing my kids to carry a water bottle with them all the time so they can avoid this.0

I used to drink 2l+ of Pepsi a day. I cringe now when I think about that. Holy crap. But yeah, that was a thing. Glad that's over.
When I got off the soda, I found I didn't feel as thirsty. I probably drink about as much water now as I did Pepsi, but I feel less thirsty. I also found I craved fewer sweets in general and that I had way more energy.
Now that it's been a few years since stopping, I find that when I do have the occasional Pepsi, I don't enjoy it as much as I used to.0 -

Yeah. I quit diet soda for a while (or really just didn't drink it, it wasn't really a big thing) and saw no differences. Now I drink it occasionally again.0 -
For me it's more important to always drink plenty of water, which I do. It helps me in lots of ways, some that have already been mentioned: clearer skin, not as dry, better digestion, etc. I still drink diet pop fairly regularly but I don't have any bad effects from drinking it nor a noticeable difference if I stop because my daily water intake is always the same.0

I have interstitial cystitis as well, and I found that the absolute worst trigger in the world was Mountain Dew. I was diagnosed when I was 15 (28 now), and I haven't had any since then. I do occasionally drink diet soda, but I try not to have it more than once a week, or I start to feel worse.

This. I've cut it out before as an experiment and the only difference was I saved some money. I'm back to drinking it again because I enjoy the taste (I drink diet, not regular).0 -
I've noticed no difference what so ever0

My skin is not as dry - especially in winter.
I don't get my yearly sinus infections from allergies. I think it keeps the "mucus" flowing. Eww. But it works.0 -
Weight loss was the initial benefit for me!
and no more caffeine headaches.0
