For about 3 days this week, my DH & i was eating salads, with fresh vegetables like tomatoes, cucumbers, green pepper, onions, lettuce, mozzerella cheese, and grilled chicken breast. I ate that for lunch and again for dinner. But my body feels hungry. Does anybody else try eating salads to loose weight and feel hungry & not satisfied from it. It was good the first day of eating salads but by the 2nd day and 3rd day, it got old very quick, and i feel hungry from it. I was weak and hungry from it yesterday. It seems i am going to have to eat something else with my salads, because salads alone does not have much nutritional values in it. What is a good low cal. item to eat with my salads?

I only have salads for lunch as I find they are not filling enough and I was getting hungry before bed so now for dinner in the evening I tend to have vegetables and meats instead which I have found do fill me up longer and I don't go to bed hungry.

I typically have a salad for one meal a day but not more then 1 meal a day. I may have salad again as a side dish but not as my meal. I would be too hungry if I did that.

Maybe just add a small bread roll to your salad, or a wrap? Because if that's what you're eating for lunch and dinner then you're not getting many carbs?

I tend to eat salad for lunch, with either ham, chicken breast or hard boiled egg. BUT I have carbs with my dinner (ie last night was tuna loin with vegetable rice..)

Or if you're trying not to eat carbs, maybe add an egg to your salad, or more chicken, to increase your protein?

    Good luck :)

Try a spinach salad, much more nutritious then that crunchy water crap. Also add a lean protoien on top (chicken breast, tuna, egg etc) or a nut/ seed to your salad.

You're probably not eating half the calories you should be by just eating salads twice a day, I would have sald for lunch and add a wholemeal pitta bread and some Hummus to bulk it up. For dinner I would have some lean meat with vegtables and some brown rice or pasta to fill you up.

Adding beans to salad is what you need to do. They are high in fiber and keep you satisfied. You could also add hard cooked eggs. Boith beans and eggs have protein and that also helps with satisfaction. Try it.

I eat a salad nearly every day for lunch but to keep it from becoming boring I prep lots of diffrent veggies and meats so I have a unique salad every day. Turkey pepperoni and shrimp are some of my favorites! Also calamata olives and banana peppers add a lot of flavor! I also eat snacks at regular intervals during the day so I don't feel hungry. Most importantly, I use dark leafy lettuces in my salads; never iceburg, but ALWAYS spinach.
