Non workout days in MFP

Options
My job is sitting at a desk most of the day, but try to walk and take the steps as much as I can. My TomTom says I get about 7000 steps on these days. Should I be entering the calories burned from my my TomTom into MyFitnessPal? For instance today I didn't workout, and was under my 1300 calorie goal. But TomTom says I burned 1400 calories. Should I add that to MFP?
My runs automatically get imported from MapMyRun, so I'm not worried about those.
Thank!

No way you burned 1400 from walking, more likely it was 200 from walking and 1200 from remaining alive.

Yes, of course. Sorry I wasn't more clear.

Nope. MFP already assumes you're burning calories all day. 7000 steps likely is right around what MFP assumes you'll do anyway or pretty darn close. When I had my FitBit linked I think I had to get at least 5,000 steps to start earning extra calories. I wouldn't add anything extra.

No, I completely disregard calories burnt form exercise and just being active throughout the day. What I do and what I recommend to people is to eat at a calorie level that allows you to make good progress towards your goal. If you are trying to lose weight, eat so you drop 1-2 lbs/week. This assumes an average calorie burn from you getting in all of your workouts. This will be different for everyone, so you'll have to do some trial and error to figure it out. I'd start ~1300 cal/day. Hit this goal, along with your macros and getting in your workouts, for 2 weeks. If you lose 1-2 lbs/week, you're good to go. If you lose too much, increase your intake and repeat. If you don't lose enough, reduce your intake a bit and repeat. After a few cycles, you'll figure out what works for you in your situation.
