no that's not low. And it's OK to consume more protein than they are saying to they just want you to hit that mark. I often eat way more protein than my goal lol

That's high! Keep it below 100, along with carbs. :)

Not that dumb a mistake. My mom's boyfriend sees a nutritionist who tells him to eat 200g of protein a day... but what she really means is 200g of food that is mainly protein. So confusing...

IIFYM gives me high protein too- it can be difficult to reach that number. I try though because I lift. But without carbs my energy tank is empty. You will have to experiment with what works for you.

Usually you would eat around 1 gram of protein per 1 pound of body weight

Is that of body weight you are or the weight you want to be?

Just to make sure people do not think they absolutely need that much daily protein.
Minimum for a sedentary woman is 46 grams a day.
My goal is 70 grams /daily.
Don't panic if you are not getting the 150 or so daily grams.

I am just starting too I have my protein at 108g and I go over by 20-30 grams usually... now I think this is because I drink a shake first thing in morning because I don't like eggs at all and the breakfast good I do like isn't really full of protein .. my carbs are 250g now I have a hard time hitting that daily.. I'm always under and fat 47g well that isn't all that hard to hit. Does anyone know if going over is a huge deal ? Just trying these macros for a few weeks to see if I get any results and I am eating pretty clean

I actually ended up doing a ton more research and instead of using a random online calculator ... 250 was too much for what I want to accomplish. I used 1g protein per lb of body weight .4 g fat per lb and then whatever I had remaining in calories for the day I divided by 4 and that's my carbs ... and I'm trying a mini cut . So over all I'm 135 protein 54 g fat and 177 carbs .... haha
This seems way more attainable then what I was doing ..so sticking to this and see how I do in a month . I have to eat carbs that's like how I feel full and start my day with lots of carbs I wouldn't be able to do 106

If I'm doing my math correctly, you weight 108 pounds and you're cutting on 1,850 calories per day? Something doesn't sound right.

Maybe I'm all wrong in this? I was under the impression 1g protein per lb body weight and .4 g fat per lb body weight and after that users whatever calories it does the rest is carbs I did my caloric calculation online which said 2230 calories to maintain.. and I subracrws 500 calories to cut ?
I posted a forum to try to see if I'm doing this write .. I'm 25 years old 135 lbs and I work out 6 times a week mostly weights and a little cardiovascular .
All the online calculators were giving me different results on macros

The golden rule, eat 1-1,5g of protein for your body weight or ideal body weight ultimately think of it as a weight point you want to be at like i aim for 250g pro 100g or carb n fat i consume alot more protein because carb and fat goes to my midsection and i work hard to control that lol. so you really have to play with those numbers sometimes to figure out what it is your trying to accomplish

You're not doing your math correctly. She said she was doing 1 g protein per lb of body weight, and her goal is 135 g protein. So she weighs 135 lbs (1 X 135 = 135 -- I'm just doing that in my head, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)

And if we double check with her .4 g fat per pound, eating 54 g fat, we get the same results (54/.4 = 135)

Pretty much whatever suits you. Get your protein and fat where you want it, and fill the rest with carbs.
Some people do 5% carbs, others do 50%. I'm right in the middle of those two.

Yes that's exactly what I thought.. I tried iifym.com and got numbers I thought there's no way I could eat and lose weight. So watched a few videos and did the math for myself .
I think my numbers fit a little better now and I'm getting them almost spot on daily

Basically you take ur fat g × it by 9 cux 1 g fat = 9 calories do the same for protein but ×4 add what u get together so imagine it's like 700 calories and ur supposed to eat 1500 calories a day surat the 700 from 1500 and then divide what u get by 4 and that will be your carbs in grams
    Hope that made sense
