Extreme Hunger

Sigh...it happened...I decided to have a cheat day to eat my favorite meal and dessert, well...it turned into a cheat nightmare...I didn't exercise on my treadmill today, I felt extremely hungry all day and decided to eat more but then I kept eating and eating and eating like I couldn't stop. Now I feel like crap and extremely guilty. I believe it was like 5-8K calories, I honestly have no idea. What do I do...? I feel guilty and it's gonna take forever to get this bloat and weight off. I told myself I wouldn't go beyond a certain point but my body kept wanting certain foods and I gave in. I ate healthy meals but my snacks were kinda bad. I had a healthy breakfast, I had my typical Newks salad for lunch (eat it 1-2x a week), along with a healthy version of cookie dough which didn't taste good so I only had a few bites, two tablespoons or so of Nutella, Reece's PB eggs, chips with salsa and queso, a quarter of shrimp fajitas, milkyway bar, fiber one cheesecake, some special K crackers, beef jerky, part of a mini Bundt cake, and a small bag of whoppers eggs. Lots of food and with extreme guilt. Is it because of my undereating for the past 3 weeks? I just know I'm no longer hungry, I feel bloated, and disgusted with myself and not sure what to do. Is this normal for weeks of undereating? I just need support and encouragement, I'm starting to really hate cheat days/meals now and feel like I might as well diet forever just to stay thin.

There are some debate about cheat days. Some people swear by them others are strongly against them. I myself can't do it. I lose it and regret it right after. Instead I slip in my "guilty pleasures" in small portions here and there and try to keep whithin my calories. It keeps me from obsessing and binging. This doesn't work for everyone I will admit.
As for what to do now? Dust yourself off, acknowledge what happened, forgive yourself, and work a little harder in the future. Nobody is perfect, stuff happens. Beating yourself up about it does no good. Demonizing the food does no good. Learning from what happened and finding what works best for you is key.
As for the bloat, lots of water, other than that some things you gotta ride out.
Remember this happens to everyone so don't beat yourself up.

Yes, if you have been undereating, overeating happens most likely because of your undereating. It is quite normal after weeks of undereating, in fact it is to be expected after weeks of undereating. But undereating is not normal. Stop doing that. Also stop having guilt for eating. Instead, aim to eat an appropriate amount of food/calories every day. Eat a little bit of everything. If you use your food diary (recommended), log everything. Also, ditch the "healthy treats". Have some of the real deal occasionally instead.

Remember that no matter how badly you fall of the bandwagon, this does NOT take away your progress from before! Look your guilt in the eyes, experience it for what it is, and then decide to continue the way you were going before.
When I have cravings, I try to do a workout first to 'earn' my cheat. So if I want chocolate, a 300 calorie workout will earn me that piece. That way I can technically have anything I want, as long as I work for it. So indeed, no 'healthy' treats for me ;)

What is your height and weight, and how many calories are you eating on an average day?

I can't do cheat days. I go up and down all the time because I only know how to diet by under eating and I know it doesn't work because when I do eat I can't stop!!!! I totally understand how you feel right now but you have to draw a line under it and move on. Add more calories to your diet and you can clearly see how your body reacts to being deprived.

How much are you undereating according to the daily allowance for weight loss provided by MFP? Are you set for a reasonable or an aggressive weekly weight loss?

How much are you undereating every day?
Stop doing that. Eat at a reasonable calorie deficit that properly fuels your body. Have some of the foods you like every day instead of doing deprivation and cheat days.

I typically eat over 700 but under 800...I no it's bad. On Fridays usually or after 2-3 days, I have another cheat meal. I'm just trying to stay 110-115. Mostly get back to 110 and stay there. I feel like I have to diet so low just to maintain that weight or get there faster to feel comfortable. I hate it. I'm also 5'2. I always struggle with my weight.

Something is not adding up. Either you recently started on this crash diet, and your body is telling you to stop, or your logging is very inaccurate.
If this is a recent thing, then stop this nonsense and start eating a reasonable amount of calories.

You KNOW it's bad, yet still do it? I never get this. People won't KNOWINGLY eat something poisonous (like a poisonous mushroom) yet will under eat even if it compromises their health for a 5lb-10lb loss.
You DON'T have to starve yourself to lose weight. In fact under eating can deter weight loss due to the body being very adept to adjusting to how many calories are available to just LIVE.
Use the app right and eat the calories you're suppose to eat.

You need to up your calories if you are working out so hard. What you're doing is extremely dangerous to your health. You are worried about staying slim but the stress this is causing internally is unknown.

I just feel so pressured and feel like I have to diet all the time just to stay how I am. Everytime I eat more, my weight goes up no matter what I do. Now I binged by a lot, I don't know what to do and want to reverse it. I don't feel hungry today but I do feel sick.

I say this with the utmost compassion and support- this is an eating disorder. I have dealt w this cycle my whole life. The bingeing WILL NOT stop until you nourish your body. I promise you, you will gain more weight than you could possibly imagine, if you continue to under eat- the positive is if you eat more, your weight will be fine. I know it seems strange. Trust me. Our numbers are almost identical, yet my weight has shot up as a direct result of under eating. I'm 45 and it took me forever to learn this. I have osteopenia (the pre curser to osteoporosis. Just healed from a fractured hip. I used to freak out if my workouts had to be altered- then I couldn't walk- I have many dental implants bec of years of malnutrition- I could go on and on- the national eating disorder association has great resources. It can get so much better! Please add me if you feel I can help in any way!

    Hugs!
