Problem with weight loss

May 2015: 280 pounds
By January 2016 I lost 130 pounds.
5'6" male age 18
Even though I lost a lot of weight I now have a problem of loose skin. The main goal was to lose weight and be like other teenagers showing off at the pool during the summer. I am happy that I succeeded in losing weight but I can't manage to get my body fat down. After losing 130 pounds you definately have more energy, but I seem to be stuck with a high body fat still.

Imo try some high interval training and some weight lifting. Those two together can really torch body fat. Congrats on the massive weight loss brother, keep it up!!!

You're young, the loose skin will probably tighten with time.
Congratulations on the healthier new you! It's awesome that you faced it head on while so young, I waited until I was 55 years old to get my act together. I'm very happy for you!

Fantastic weight loss! As everyone else has stated do some weight lifting :) Doesn't have to be super heavy but it will help tone you up and since you're young it you'll be able to tighten up that skin as well. Keep up and don't be discouraged!!

Thanks for the replies! I do strength training 5-6 days a week and have an active rest day. I'm not seeing any progress though and I am eating about 1200 calories a day.

I would say you're already at a healthy weight. If you want to gain some muscle you're going to have to increase your calorie intake and do some heavy lifting. Eating only 1,200 a day, there's no way you're going to gain any muscle on that.

1200 calories for a male is too low unless under a drs care, the minimum is 1500 and thats for someone who doesnt work out. eat more and continue to lift weights. I would probably do a recomp(eat at maintenance and follow a structured lifting program) it will be slow going but will change how your body looks

I achieved my goal weight having lost a tad over 100 pounds, so yes, I felt my body fat was too high.
Over the last 5 years, I engaged a process called Body Recomposition to sharpen the saw.
This just means maintaining weight, losing body fat and retaining muscle.

Let me be honest: it's a SLOW PROCESS!
Just google "Body Recomposition" and there are tons of articles that can lead you into some new challenges in weight maintenance.
It's a whole new way of living which involves cycling your calories and macros to match your training. Meal timing is also a factor.
And do not pay anybody for this information. There are loads of free resources available and several different approaches that can accomplish the mission.
    Good Luck!
