“Pre-logging” as a planning tool?

I usually pre log everything.0

I often pre log and plan what I'm going to eat for the day ahead, if I don't it can be very easy to go over.0

I like to log the week ahead on Sunday, use that as my grocery list and know that's what I have, that's what I eat.0
-
I do it everyday! Except weekends

I log as I go on the weekends (if I log at all), but I'm fairly consistent at pre-logging during the week and yes, it does keep me on track.0

I always prelog the next day at least sometimes more. Helps keep the macros where I want them.0

Each night I pre-log the next day's meals. This has been perhaps the single best step I have taken in losing weight. My calorie goal is fairly low, so I want to make sure I maximize satiety and enjoyment--planning is key for this.
If you told me a year ago I would do this I would tell you you were crazy! I am the former queen of boredom grazing...0 -
I think this is a brilliant idea! I am going to try this out. It sounds like it's a pretty successful plan.0

Pre planning and sticking to the plan has helped be be successful. If I didn't plan I'd be trying to figure out what is only 120 calories 0 fat and 56 grams of protein and 17 grams of carbs. Nah, that food does not exist.
I cannot eat as I go. Maybe if one simply counts calories, but counting p/c/f I need my day planned0 -
I tend to plan ahead too, especially lunches for work. It makes it a lot easier.0

Not daily, but frequently. I definitely make sure I do when I know I'll be eating out. I log the food that I plan to eat so that I can adjust my calories for the rest of the day. That way I know I won't go over.0

I log the next day entirely before I go to bed - usually when I'm making dinner and in the kitchen so that I can scan new items. I find it easier to stay on track when I have less decisions to make the next day.0

I prelog a week in advance. Even my "cheat" meals are on there (since I go out for dinner every Friday). I helps me stay within a fairly consistent macro range (don't want to overdo it on fat or carbs).0

Every single day. I pre-plan my next day's meals every night before I go to bed, and that means I have time to defrost frozen meats and such for the next day as well. It's the best thing I ever did--whenever I don't pre-log my foods, my calories just go out the window.0

Yep, I tend to pre-log my food diary, then as the day goes by I edit and adjust measurements as I'm making the meals (to make the calorie amount more accurate). Plus I add any extras I ate, and remove any pre-logged food that I didn't end up eating0

I usually know what my breakfast and lunch are going to be, and depending on exercise it gives me a guesstimate as to what I can do for dinner. Or not do.0

Yes! I love it, keeps me motivated in the day0
