What do y'all normally do to reward yourselves after you achieve something? I promised myself a treat when I hit a new PR in my deadlift but normally I'd reward myself w food. I'd like to move away from that idea, so I was wondering what other people treat themselves to! Any recommendations would be welcome please and thank youu (:

    Life's best rewards are intrinsic.

On March 26, my husband and I cycled a 300 km randonnee ... we did it in 17 hours and 6 minutes (including all breaks). I haven't done that in years so it was a big accomplishment for me.

I rewarded myself with a long, long sleep, and relaxation the next day. :)

I go for stuff that will help me reach my goals.

Like new running shoes, new pair of shorts, etc.

I book a massage or hot stone pedicure or something else that's pampering to my body and that helps relieve stress overall (I have a stressful job, so since I've cut out my stress eating, that gives me an excuse for healthy alternatives that also pamper me).

I recently bought new running clothes as a sort of reward, though it was mostly because I just wanted new running clothes as my old ones were getting a bit worn!

I dont. I achieve miracles every day. So a hobby like this would prove a bit too expensive....

and then flex and take a picture!

Anyways, I'm down over 50lb and can squat 5x300lb and honestly the answer is nothing. The problem with "rewarding" myself is that I have plenty of money and can buy whatever I really need/want. That, and spending money above my normal budget is robbing my future self, so it isn't exactly a reward either. This summer I will buy a whole bunch of clothes, but not as a reward, but as a necessity (I've bought a few key pieces, but I need to replace a lot of clothes).

Yesterday, on a different thread about motivational quotes/sayings, someone posted "Don't reward yourself with food. You're not a dog." Made me laugh. And it's true!

I agree with non-food rewards. I rewarded myself with a new, cute Fitbit when I got into the normal/healthy BMI range.
