Well everyone, I'm off to the grocery store -- or rather, I'm putting my list together for the next time I'm off to the grocery store. I'm usually home all day -- eating out get's me in trouble. So what are some low calorie, healthy, easy to make lunch, breakfast and snack foods?

I usually replace Beef & Pork products for Chicken & Turkey.

Bread has a lot of calories (as much as 70 calories a slice!) so I always get Nickles 35 calorie bread. It comes in White, Wheat, and Whole Grain.

Swap pop and soda for Sobe Lifewater or Mio Water Flavoring Drops with a case of water.

If it has a whole grain option (like regular noodles verse whole grain noodles) get the whole grain.

With canned goods, I always look for the no salt added or low sodium options.

I stay away from frozen foods most of the time now.

Don't skip the produce section. Get lots of fruits and veggies for snacks.

Finally, ALWAYS look at the labels. It takes more time, but you won't be in for a nasty surprise later.

With better foods, you can eat normally without having to do too much planning or spending too much money on "health" or "diet" foods.

    Hope that helps.

I get the frozen meals - lean cuisine, healthy choice, etc. cuz I am a lazy bunny and will grab things that are most convenient. I love frozen veggies - they actually make a great fast snacks. And don't forget to plan the munchies. Microwave popcorn, rice cakes. And for sweet, I really like the sugar free pudding and jello. I get the instant chocolate pudding - i can have smooth, creamy chocolate in 5 minutes.

    Boneless skinless chicken breast
    almonds
    cottage cheese
    greek yogurt
    oatmeal
any fresh veggies-the greener they are the better
    peanut butter
    eggs
    beans
    turkey bacon
