Too many failed attempts

I'm the heaviest I have ever been in my life! I'm so depressed tonight after trying dresses for a wedding I was going to go to. I've been struggling with weight my whole life but this by far has been the worse attempt. I'm a mom of three boys, wife, and graduate student. I always put myself last on the list of things to do. I have all the things I need to lose the weight it's just by the time I'm done with everything else I'm so tired to workout. I need a weightloss friend or some motivation to help me. I don't want to gain anymore. Please help me

Log what you eat and look at what you're eating and how much.
It's never too late.
You can lose weight without working out.
You an do it.

I know exactly how you feel! It's been a lifelong attempt for me as well and I can't tell you how many times I've tried to stick with a plan. Health reasons have caused me to try one more time. Why don't we work on this together. Reaching out to you is difficult for me because I may not be able to commit to a diet, but I take trying to be a friend seriously. So... I'm rich on life experience and this is what I've found. Having raised a family and put myself last for years, I learned that I needed to set an example for the children that I am important too and that I have needs as well as they. So try to do a little something for yourself each day, even if it means telling them, "Mama needs a minute for me." You have so little time, that it might mean shutting the bedroom door for 10 minutes while you take deep breaths and stretch. Don't try to be supermom. It's impossible. Learn to ask for help from your husband and friends. It's okay if you don't keep the cleanest house; the kids won't remember how clean the house was anyway. You don't say how old your children are, but if they're old enough, have them take turns cleaning the bathroom, setting the table, washing the dishes or loading the dishwasher, taking the clean clothes to their rooms and putting them away. Get your husband to help. Men can do more than they think. They actually can run the washer and dryer, fold and put away clothes, run the vacuum, and clean the toilet. And praise him, even if it's not how you'd do it, and don't do it over! No wonder you're tired. Just remember this is one of those times in your life when life has handed you an overloaded plate, and not with food! Be easier on yourself. This will get better. You'll get your degree, the children will get older and hopefully, be more helpful, and you will lose the weight. But it's hard to do that when you're depressed. You're a special woman to attempt all you're doing. Try to look at all you've accomplished in your life already. Make a list if you need to. Sometimes we forget who we are and what brought us this far. For April, let's just get in the habit of listing on Fitness Pal every thing we eat. If you had a way of counting your steps, I bet you'd see you're getting exercise that way. Now that your eyes are crossed for having to wade through this, I'll say goodnight. When I'm going to sleep, I start saying to myself what I'm grateful for. I never make it to the end before I fall asleep. In the morning when I awaken, I state, "this is the day you have been given. Rejoice and be glad in it." It helps me get out of bed. Hang in there.0

If you're in grad school then you're a logical thinker. And so let's use that to our advantage.
You know what you need to do: eat less, move more.
But that doesn't mean suddenly cut yourself to 600 calories a day, and budget a 4 hour workout.
It means EAT LESS than you are eating now --even if that's just a LITTLE less (can you cut 100 - 200 calories per day just by smaller portions?) and MOVE MORE than you are moving now--even if it's just a LITTLE more (can you park at the back of the grocery store parking lot and walk the extra 200 feet, or climb the stairs to your class rather than taking the elevator, or find 10 minutes between obligations to walk around the block?)
Grad school is HARD! [Believe me-- I know-- it took me almost 9 years to earn my masters and doctorate!] but even tiny changes in habits can help you feel better--both physically and mentally.

My name is Karen and I understand what you mean I kept trying and failing. I would loose and regain and fitness pal helped me to get focused and I have a health coach with my Humana Gold insurance and he emails me daily to encourage me to keep trying and not give up. I walk on a treadmill but you can walk a little each day and keep adding steps start where you are at and add a little each week. it is working for me I have lost 32 pounds. Don't give up.0

Sounds like you may have hit rock bottom. As much as it sucks, that's a good place to be. It means you're ready.

This plus the fact that you are still trying! Each failed attempt means you are that much closer to being able to stick with it. I think with some things we have to fail a time or two, or many before we are ready to succeed!0 -
I was the same way. I tried 3 or 4 times because my doctor urged me. I would lose about 10 pounds but would stall out there. I realized I wasn't serious and committed about tacking everything. I would think it was a bother to log things or would forget and I would cheat with desserts and fried foods more than I should. After my last doctors visit I decided I need to get serious. I was the heaviest I ever have been at 252. I am now strict about logging everything down to the last spoonful of mayo or any other condiment. In the past five months I have went from 252 down to 210 pounds and that is without any exercise, by logging everything strictly and staying within the daily calorie goal that MFP gave me.0

Hiya, I'm a SAHM of 2 kids and although I do have time to exercise I don't at the moment, other than a couple of long walks in the week because I don't enjoy it and think I've still got to much fat to haul around. I am however very active, gardening or decorating or finding someone to help, so I don't beat myself up over it, that's a goal for me in another 20lbs or sooner if I feel like it. I do however log my food everyday which takes a matter of seconds. It's all about the planning here, and as mums we are excellent at that! Get yourself s notebook and plan your weeks meals with the kids, if they don't eat what you eat, then eat later, in my case once they are in bed and I can enjoy my tea without them trying to steal my calories ( THEY ARE MINE)..0

Eat less, eat better. With proper nutrition you will have energy to work out. These days everyone is hot for HIT High intensity short interval, so you don't need a lot of time. I was a yo yo dieter and binge eater for 25 years, MFP member over 1000 days now. Every day you waste now you will regret later. Start now. Stop making excuses.0

My advice is this: It's time to put yourself FIRST. Stop putting yourself on the back burner. Your health and sanity is important as well. When you take the time to think about yourself, the results you begin to see are amazing.
Take baby steps - small goals each day! Make healthier choices in food too. Everything is in moderation, so don't beat yourself up if you "slip up" - we're human, we all do it. It's okay... Be aware of the serving size though! They are there for a reason. ;-)0 -
Visualize yourself at your desired weight. Put a picture of someone you would like to look like on the fridge. Plan ahead what you will eat the next day. If you feel like eating something off your plan, say to yourself over and over, "I am losing weight" and visualize yourself at your desired weight.0
