I've lost 1.4 pounds in a week without exercise. However, I have a physical job working 50 hours a week in a factory picking up things and moving all shift. I've tried to stick to 1700-1800 calories but last Saturday and Sunday I went over quite a bit, close to 2400 each day total calories. Is it possible to burn 500+ calories during one shift? I'm 29, female 5'8. Started 12 days ago at 203, now 198.2.

Probably, but if you set your activity level accurately that's already accounted for

Yeah, I changed my calories to lower than what MFP stated.. One setting was 1800 something for sedentary, 2100 something lightly active and the other was 2300 something.

I don't mind losing more than 1lb a week I'm just curious as to if I'm lightly active, Active, or very active but I don't workout. However, I'm guessing I should stick to 1700-1800 on my off days.

Your activity level on MFP doesn't include exercise. My guess is you are at least lightly active.

Hello! Based on your age/weight/gender, you probably have a resting metabolic rate of approximately 1850 calories/day (give or take 100 calories or so). Your resting metabolic rate (RMR) is the amount of calories you burn just to exist.

I don't know how strenuous your work is, what you're lifting, or what your rest/leisurely periods are, but if you're working ~10hr days, you're almost certainly burning 500 calories. If the work or working conditions are such that you are sweating throughout the day, you're probably burning much more than 500.

On the days you work (if your work is moderately physically demanding), anything less than 2200-2300 calories means you're most likely in a caloric deficit and are losing weight.
