ok.... so today i burned 1500 calroes running on the eliptical for 2 .5 hrs.

so my plan is..
if i eat , say 1200 calories per day. and go on the elli[tical and burn 100..
will lose fast because i would only be technically consuming 200?

confused!

My understanding is that if you are burning 1000 calories per day exercising, you should be consuming a total of at least 2200 calories. Your body needs at least 1200 calories just to function healthily, if you burn it all off working out it will actually kill your metabolism. Sounds counterintuitive, but you do have to eat to lose!

Also, my trainer has told me that doing more than 1 hour of cardio at a time isn't actually good for you. Your body runs out of fuel and starts burning muscle. I'm sure you're anxious to lose, but an hour a day (making sure to take a day off!) and a healthy diet will help you lose healthily and keep it off. Good luck!
