Lifting

So I've been lifting not insanely heavy like 50lbs max 25lbs mostly... I seem to have injured my shoulder. Any tips or tricks for helping my range of motion and pain management other than popping pills?

NSAIDs for inflammation if you can tolerate them; ice if the injury is recent; rest to let the shoulder heal (no lifting); if you are still having significant pain with motion after 3-4 days, consult a medical provider. A physical therapist can give you some exercises to strengthen your shoulder directly targeted at the issues related to your specific injury, and consultation around whether, given your particular biomechanics, you should be doing any over head weighted movements.

I started getting shoulder pain as well when i started lifting. It was hurting in the front part of my shoulder. I had the fitness coordinator/trainer take a look and instead of my shoulder it was actually a knot in the back part...he suggested massage. I have yet to do that, but he gave it a bit of a rub and it felt better!

Maybe look to see if that could the problem?

Google shoulder impingement to see if that may be the cause. There are many trainers on YT that show how to fix your lifting pattern to prevent impingement.

Having torn my Supraspinatus Tendon I am very familiar with rehabbing shoulder injuries. Smaller weights with smaller movements. I use the following web site as a guide. It is a great resource material to clearly define what angles and movements will best help. http://www.exrx.net/Muscles/Supraspinatus.html
