Hey Everyone,
I'm Mark, and I really need some encouragement and accountability when it comes to my weight loss goals. I'm a big guy in general. I'm 6'5" and I've been yo-yoing for the past five years. I've been on Weight Watchers on and off since I was 18, I'm 31 now. WW hasn't always been the most technologically advanced platform which is why I find MFP never lets me down.
My problem is laziness. The hardest part about going to the gym is getting your foot in the door. Five years ago I was at the top of my fitness, I weighed in at 210, and I was loving life, now I'm 50 pounds higher at 260 and puzzled at how I'm going to do this which is why I'd love some friends to connect with to help encourage me for success.
I am a firm believer that when you do things together you get farther in life and in your own goals.
I look forward to meeting some new friends!

Hi, Mark. I'm Gary. It sounds like I am a shorter and older version of you. I relate to that extra 50 LBS. I did WW and left them December 2015, when they went to the new program. It just wasn't doing it for me after hitting lifetime 3 or 4 times in the past WW. I miss the weekly weigh-ins and the accountability.
I am back at it using the Fitbit and MFP. I am making an effort to hit the magic 10,000 steps per day and be under the calorie count. What motivates me is the fact that I am pretty miserable when I get up this high and I am just physically uncomfortable. I try to keep that along with how hard it was to get off the couch and put down the fork in my mind when I am tempted to slack off. I also remember how much happier and how much better I felt being 50 lbs lighter. By keeping those thoughts in the front of my mind, I'm able to stay with it today. I know I have to make that same decision tomorrow. It's a day by day challenge that we both know from past experience we can meet and master.
