Red Lobster: Need Ideas!

Okay, so I'm heading out on date night with my husband tonight. I have looked through Red Lobster's online nutrition facts to narrow down the best choices for a healthier meal. This is the first time we have gone there in many months and I am so close to my goal weight that I really don't want to blow it now! But as I move in to maintenance mode, I know that I can't avoid restaurants that I love forever. The problem with Red Lobster is the SODIUM! I kills my stomach every time... but it's sooooo good.

Could you share some of the choices you make at Red Lobster? What tastes good that may be lower in sodium than other choices? I'm a huge Seaside Trio lover and that is the amount of sodium I'm trying to avoid, lol! I'm not as concerned about calories, fat, sugar, etc. It's the sodium I need to keep as low as I possibly can.
Any ideas are welcome! Thanks.

I ate the peppercorn tilapia with asparagus. it was really good. I know sometimes menus are different in different areas but see if they serve that where you live. Enjoy!0

I had a fresh Lobster- went easy on the butter and a salad with no dressing and I did have one cheddar bay biscuit- the broccoli is LOADED with salt and butter- and the baked potato skin is rubbed or drenched in salt too.0

Most restaurants have sodium issues. Do your best and drink lots of water. Just avoid those 150 cal a pop biscuits or anything in a butter/cream sauce.0

I am not a huge fan of RL but I do LOVE fish looking at the menu you could do
Parmesan-Crusted Tilapia - Half (ask for no crust if u are worried about it being to high in calories
Or maybe
Scampi
AS a side
Fresh Asparagus (seasonal
Fresh Broccoli
Wild Rice Pilaf0 -
Just went to RL last Sunday. I had the wood-grilled salmon with steamed broccoli and a skewer of grilled shrimp, a side salad with red wine vinaigrette and it was delish! Not too many calories and the sodium was as low as I could get it.....happy eating! :flowerforyou:0

Sodium-wise, the shrimp looks like your best best to me! Shrimp scampi is 130 calories, 8 grams of fat, 990 mg sodium.0

I think this pdf contains more nutrition info for their menu:

I like:
(1) "seafood-stuffed fish" - 320 cal
(2) any of their grilled fish (I ask for not using butter but just very little oil)
All my vegi I ask for steamed. Any sauce on the side.
Enjoy Red Lobster!0 -
I don't eat seafood so I had the peppercorn sirloin with brocolli and a salad with the dressing on the side. I had 2 cups of water before my meal came. I did have 1 biscuit then pushed the basket away.0

Their Wood Fire Grill choices are good. The tilapia is usually excellent. The last time I was there I asked them if it was an option to leave some of the "salty" seasonings off my fish and they were more than happy to do that. Avoid the garlic cheddar biscuit and the high calorie/high fat dressing (Ceasar) and you can make good choices. Enjoy your night.0

My husband took me there not to long ago and I chose something off of their lighthouse menu....they're smaller portions that are served with veggies or rice pilaf. You might check that out.0
