So I am committing here and now to do the 30 day shred in the next 36 days... ( i don't exercise on Sundays and will be camping one weekend) What i am wondering is how haevy of a hand weight did you use and what were your lbsand inches results...... I have 1lb weights and 3 lb weights and was thinking at least for level 1 of alternating them everyday. that way I am not so sore that I don't want to do it the next day .. opinions please...

I heard that this the 30 day shred video is for 3-5 lb weights. I just did it for the first time and used my normbal 8 lb weights and now I feel a burning in the back of my neck. I think I will try 5 lbs tomorrow.0

Starting out with 3 lbs is a great start. I am on my second session of 30DS, and I still use my 5 lbs hand weights. You don't want so much that you are "weight lifting" instead of strengthening. At least in my opinion. Just keep your heart rate up and make sure you feel a burn. Then you know you're on the right track!0

Me too. My birthday is in 30 days...so I will be doing it over the next 30 days. No breaks, no excuses!!

I started with 8 oz soup cans and was sore!!! now I use 3 pound for most of the exercises and 5 pound for the chest fly's. hard to know results because I alternate with biking, jogging and wt lifting, but overall I have lost 12" total --not all due to miss J.0

I did my first day of the shred today!! It totally kicked my butt! I used a 1lb weight, but it didn't really seem to do a whole lot for me... so I'm going to invest in some 3lb ones.0

I used 3 lb weights the first time I did the 30DS and 5 lb weights the second time. I'm currently doing Ripped in 30 and I started with 5 lbs. There's only 2 exercises I swap for the 3 lb weights.
I never took measurements...don't really care.0 -
I am using 3lb weights right now...0

I am on Day 3 and I have been using 3 lb weights which seem to just right...at least for me. I plan to move up to my 5 lbs at some point though (hopefully!) I would start with 3 lbs and see how it feels for you.0

I'm on day 14 and the 3 pound weights are more than enough for most moves. There is only one activity where I don't feel it as much but that is because I have built those muscles up 3 pounds is definitely a good burn!0

do u want to be 30 day shred buddies.... we can check in and hold eachother accountable??/0

I am on day 8 of level 1 and have used 5 lb weights with no problems, except for the third circuit of strength training, doing the lateral arm raises was so hard with them that my form was off. So I started holding one weight with both hands for just that part and it's helped my form to improve and my shoulders not to ache so badly while doing it.0

I used 2kg (4.4lb) weights when I did 30DS in May. My results can be seen on my profile page.0

Started with 5's and almost died on some of the moves
if I wasn't so stubborn I would have switched to 3's0
