I do...one or two days per week depending. Depending on what you're doing, rest days can be a pretty important if not essential part of your fitness regimen. Fitness gains happen in recovery.

Note that a rest/recovery day doesn't mean sitting on your rear doing nothing...or at least it doesn't have to be. I still go for walks on my rest days...sometimes I do some yoga...I work in the yard...I go to the park and play with my kids, etc. I'm just taking rest from strenuous training activity.

I went on an all day hike up a mountain yesterday...today is a rest day.

Usually 2 a week. I wouldn't be able to put enough effort consistently to improve if I trained every day.

Monday is usual my rest day though I still do an hours walking aswell as go to work and do the school run .
If I've had a bit more food than normal over the weekend I may go for a run before work on a Monday just because I will feel all stodgy otherwise

I don't usually, but probably should. I've been told that I'll burn out with my workout schedule, but its worked for 3 years now. I have taken rest days when I had the flu and strep...Sometimes I just go at an easier pace, like walking the dogs a few times or doing some easier yoga.

Sunday, but I will reduce my workout on other days if I feel the need.

Normally one day (usually Sunday) a week is a rest day for me, although I still try to stay active. Today is probably the most rest I've allowed myself in some time, but that's only because it's raining and my back hurts, so I'm sort of limited as to what I can do. I'll probably do some yoga at the very least. I get antsy if I don't stay active ;)

One a week. I enjoyed chasing my girls around the zoo today on my rest day. Another day is easy body weight correctives and prehab that keeps me moving well.

I am always crazy active even if I so decide to take a rest day. I'm a mother of 4 + 2 step children so I'm almost never just sitting down. Today was swimming and laundry and the never ending cooking and cleaning, getting them ready for school. No rest at all really. Its sun up til late late everyday for me

It's supposed to be part of your routine. Depending on what your routine is. I usually stick to 1 active recovery (running/jogging/rowing or mostly jump rope) and 1 day off when I'm on 2 workouts a day routine. I find it helps to void off injuries or some other achy joints. Usually 3/2 days on and 1 off

Then again. You do what works for your body

On my rest days I jog outside for a mile or two ( just so I don't get too used to treadmill or hit the gym but stretch/jacuzzi/sauna because life is gooood :)

I usually have 2 rest days a week, tends to be Tuesday and Friday. On those days I will walk the dog and/or do some stretching but not break a sweat. However, I would also say listen to your body - I recently had an issue with my calf I just could not shift the discomfort for weeks until finally I took 5 consecutive rest days (I also came down with a sore throat/cough at the same time) and it felt so much better the next time I ran.

I have been forced to take rest days from the gym...just don't have enough hours in the day with activities for the three boys and other obligations...even if we divide and conquer.

I know that in my performance is even better those first few days back...but rig now the focus is still weight loss...another 13-18 to go ( for a total approaching 60)

I take 2 active rest days - ie I walk a lot on my rest days.
If I feel I need a proper rest I will take an easier day but it still involves walking at least 3+ miles/7000 steps minimum.

Mondays are Scout meeting nights. Thursdays are a volunteer activity for me. Even those days, I walk on my lunch break.

I have 1 or 2 days off a week, this is due to work as a rule. But your muscles do need to rest to rebuild so a day off once a week is important.
