I did a long, scenic bike ride this weekend (pics)

I got up early and drove my bike to Leavenworth on Saturday (about 275 miles round trip) for a bike ride. I do this every year, and I'd cry if I ever missed it. This is one of my spring classics, best done in April when there's snow on the mountaintops but the roads are clear and the flowers are starting to bloom.

I set a new PR for fastest 40k on this ride. :) Wasn't really fair due to the elevation profile of the route, but I'll still take it. Yesterday I set a PR for running my fastest mile, too. :) It was a great weekend, I impressed myself athletically, but, even better, I spent time outdoors in a place I love.

Gorgeous pictures! And congrats on the PRs :)

Seeing that, I can see why you would be upset to miss it in the Spring. How lovely.

Hey, my favorite 50 mile race was this weekend as well. It's the "I will never miss" ride for me!

Love. Love. Love! What a beautiful ride! Congrats on the PR too, although with a glorious day and a great trail like that I guess those things seem a little less important :)

I popped a spoke Thursday night. Managed to sneak out for a break Friday morning, get it to a wheel builder, and pick it up on the way home. I was getting worried for a moment...

For sure! Even the up hill parts aren't bad when you have great scenery to distract you. And this was more than a little nicer than my neighborhood at home...! :)
