Could this be a woosh effect?

Options
In the last 4 weeks I've lost 11.5 inches, but not many pounds. I'm trying to understand what's going on. I'm very excited for the inches lost, but I'm wondering about the pounds? Could this be water retention/woosh effect? After 4 weeks I would've thought the water retention would've been better.

Thoughts?

Especially if I just start a lifting program, I can see weight remain stable for 6-8 weeks. Then I'll suddenly start dropping twice as fast as I should be for several weeks.

If you're losing inches, you're making progress.

11.5 inches in total from around your body?! Or just your belly? o.o Are u positive it was inches and not centimeters?! I lost maybe 4-5 inches in 30 lbs of weight loss from my belly, in a few months, so 11.5 inches seems like ALOT unless you mean total from belly, arms, legs etc. o.o I could be wrong though.

Thanks! I'm just trying to decide if I need to tweak something or not. I feel sure I'll start dropping soon.

11.5 inches in total from various measurements or just around one body part?

Either way, as other poster said, losing inches or weight, or both is success! :) So keep doing what you are doing!

You are very right. I need to get into this mind set. It's just frustrating not seeing the scale go down...I just need to hide it!
