My friend is coming into town tomorrow and asked if I wanted to meet her for breakfast or brunch. Any suggestions on what place would have healthy breakfast options? Or what to eat when I go out? I just found out I have seriously high cholesterol and cannot have more than 8 grams of saturated fat a day so that is posing a problem!! Thanks!!!

Pick a place where you can get eggs - and have them substitute egg beaters or egg whites for you. That saves a TON of unhealthy additives - and remember, most places offer Oatmeal and stuff! Check out what's on the "sides" menu.
It's not so much where you go, as what you order!0 -
Hmmm. What about an egg white omelet with lost of veggies, fruit and plain oatmeal. Or if you want to splurge, order something but only eat half. Breakfast places usually are huge so I used to always have leftovers (when I used to go out for bfast all the time). Make sure that if you order toast or something, make sure u ask for no butter. Also , most places have sugar free syrup but u have to ask for it. Good luck.0

egg whites or oatmeal. Most breakfast places serve them. Fruit too. Good luck!0

Pretty generic, but places like Denny's and Shari's have healthy substitutions0

You can find most restaurant's menus online. I travel often for work and don't have much choice about eating out, so I plan ahead. I've learned to NOT look at menus. If I know what I'm getting before I get there, I don't need one, and it prevents me from being distracted by shiny pictures of fatty foods.
Anyway, you might check out Bob Evan's. You can get quaker oatmeal, just request they use no milk when they make it. It's a meal in itself it's such a huge bowl.
Or you can always just order fruit.0 -
dennys has a grand slam build your own type thing; its only $6, and in this build ur own menu option u get to choose 4 items; i choose wheat pancakes (with no butter, with sugar free syrup--ask for it; theyll give u ur own bottle), turkey bacon, fruit cup (fresh fruit--generally banana, grapes, cantalope or apple), and egg whites; on this menu they also have yogurt, oatmeal pancakes, etc.
since she is coming to you, u get to choose; do some research on different places in your area to see who has the lowest, healthiest food.0 -
egg white omelette with spinach/mushrooms, or any other veggies0

Crazy enough, Denny's has a lot of good options. They have fruit cups and egg white omelettes you can get (no cheese or other junk).0

Do you have a Panera near you? I love Panera! They have a delicious strawberry granola parfait that is made with organic Stoneyfield Farm vanilla yogurt (310 calories). Check this site for all of their nutritional info: http://www.paneranutrition.com/0

egg whites, turkey sausage, fruit, salmon, veggie omlet....and if it's a fancy brunch get dry champagne instead of mimosas..less sugar! Or just eat what you want and then work out later! Brunch with a best friend might be worth a splurge! And if you splurge then savor every bite and get right back on track.0
