I've never tried broccoli or green beans, but I've had asparagus baked like this and it's delicious. It's really easy and quick too.0 -
I love broccoli, I eat it all the time. Stir fried. All it needs is a little salt and garlic. Garlic makes a massive difference!!0

Just shake some cayenne pepper over it then steam or bake it. I do a little salt too. I mostly do this with baked green beans. Also garlic really goes well with broccoli.0

No way! I've never thought to do that. You should try Garden of Eaten Red Hot Blues.0 -
nutritional yeast is good on everything lol and maybe try coconut aminos? it's like soy sauce but a lot lower in sodium than even reduced sodium soy sauce0

Crushed Red Pepper. That's it. Deeeelish.0

I love steamed broccoli omg - all I need is a little salt.
That being said, a bit of butter-y stuff is good, as well as pepper. I worship at the altar of Maggi, which tastes great with basically everything. Seconding the nutritional yeast idea - it's great on spaghetti, and I'm sure it'd be fabulous on broccoli, too!0 -
I third or fourth the lemon! This True Lemon shaker of lemon crystals is fast and easy for when you don't have or don't want to hassle fresh lemons.

I honestly can't say I've ever cooked broccoli any other way besides steam since I buy the steamfresh frozen broccoli. Can you roast raw broccoli?

Yes you can. I like it roasted with chopped onion and garlic. You can also try tossing it in a teaspoon of sesame oil instead of olive oil for a nutty flavor.0 -
salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano, and red pepper flakes. I call it Pizza Broccoli.

Low sodium Tamari or soy sauce, nutritional yeast, and any salt-free table seasoning. This is seriously so good on all veggies!0

I've been doing brown butter, balsamic, and soy sauce on my veggies lately. Soo good.

this is the only way my daughter will eat it. and it's even better if the edges get a little black from being slightly overcooked.0 -
I use lime juice after I steam them....Mmmm0

Try Vietnamese or other Asian fish sauce -- delicious. Lots of sodium, but a little goes a long way.0

Just a little shredded cheddar after its done cooking and it melts right in...I eat it 3-4 times a week like that!0

Wisk 1 TBS balsamic vinegar, 1 tsp olive oil, 1 tsp honey and toss onto broccoli that has been roasted in a 350 degree oven until crispy edges. Salt and pepper to taste. Best.thing.ever.

lost cause. cooked broccoli is gross. toss it and find another veggie. LOL0

I love my hot sauces too, but when I am trying to reduce sodium I like to use fresh jalapenos. I will steam them with my vegetables or grill them too. I also like to add cayenne pepper or crushed red pepper. That's a good way to add the heat without the extra sodium.
^ this.
Also, roast the broccoli instead of steaming it. It's a completely different flavor and texture.0 -
I roast it, then toss it with whole wheat pasta, some olive oil, red chili flakes and fresh parmesan.0
-
Buffalo Wild Wings roasted broccoli or cauliflower dipped in a sauce combination of sugar free maple syrup and tapatio! So good! It's like a sweet/ spicy sauce with the salty buffalo broccoli0
-
I use some olive oil and drizzle the broccoli lightly and I use the McCormicks lemon pepper seasoning on there. I usually go by smell or I eye it. Then I bake it till the broccoli is golden brown0
