Temptation got me

I am at my company's training center - which is known for the food. I am here all week and I've had to avoid things like crème brule French toast, buffalo chicken dip, bacon wrapped scallops (at "snack" time!) bowls of different candies at every turn, pastries, nuts, taco stations, cheesecakes, brownies, strawberry shortcake - and so much more.
I have done well until today at lunch. I even splurged on things that I don't even "love" like a few buttery potatoes, candied salmon and a mayo packed chicken salad croissant. I am stuck in this classroom all day to lament on my failure.
I know it's ONE MEAL and in the big scheme of things is just a skosh over meaningless - but I hate that feeling that I lost control, I didn't actively choose something wonderful and savor it - I just went back to eating how I used to eat. I mindlessly chose potatoes and breads and mayonnaise.
Anyone else ever look back on a meal and think, "What were you doing?? Why did you do that??"

I would avoid that in future by picking maybe one thing you *love* a day, if they really are known for their food. That would help me, even if it's less in my goals than usual, and then I can feel controlled and yet not deprived, which would lead me to do the same thing and splurge on things I don't even love!0

i respect your honesty. i shall punish u with these words. be yourself. thats it. we all have slip ups. no one is perfect. splurge sometimes just not all the time. guilt is the worse feeling. so just live with it and get past it and make up for it with a awesome workout.0
