Post lifting meal

After an hour of heavy lifting, I have started to eat 5 scrambled egg whites with a tsp oil, a banana and an apple. Is this ok for recovery? I don't like the idea of a protein shake and find the whites more convenient anyhow. I eat this within an hour of the workout finishing.
What are your suggestions for post strength training snacks or meals?

For the 99+% of us who are regular joes meal timing around exercise won't make a difference
Eat a well balanced diet and time meals when your are hungry or convenient

I have a tendency to eat eggs after I lift as well. if I dont have time for eggs then i drink a protein shake. The higher protein after lifting seems to give me more energy and helps me feel full longer otherwise I am hungry all the time when I lift0

I do majority of my exercise after work, so I end up having a glass of chocolate milk (I read it's a good recovery drink) right after I get home from my workout or right after the workout if I'm working out at home. I get myself cleaned up and then have dinner. But idk if it does anything special for my body or recovery. That's just the way I programmed my body, so now it expects this after hard activity.0

I like to have pancakes, waffles, burgers or pizza post workout.0
