Has anyone used any ceramic coated cookware? I'm looking good for a frying pan that I can fry my potatoes and eggs without out adding oil or bacon grease. Without either oil or grease they still stick to a non stick pan

They would still stick to ceramic without oil. I have an expensive ceramic coated frying pan which I love, but it does need a bit of oil. Have you looked into oil sprays? I have this and I love it. If you pump it to full and keep spraying until it has no pressure anymore it measured 4 grams of oil. You are likely to use less than a full pump to grease a pan, so about 1-2 grams if you spray liberally. Even the whole 4 grams do not amount to a lot of calories.0

Ok thank you. I just seen an infomercial on tv and thought it was to good tone true0

I have one and you need very little oil. If you use no oil, you have to let what you are cooking stay in a bit longer and then it releases so .... you could go with no oil sometimes.
But again, it's only a few calories worth of oil so it's worth it. I love my skillet. I only bought a small one to test it out for eggs and crepes and now I want a larger one.0 -
I love my ceramic pan, but after 3 years using it 3-4 times a week everything sticks to it. I am considering buying a full set now though.0

i use the tiniest amount of oil you can imagine and it works fine with my newer stuff. i used cooking spray originally and it was almost impossible to clean off my ceramic non-stick stuff.0

I just bought a set and you still need a little oil, but cleans very easy. I did however have one of those as seen on TV blue diamond skillets that I LOVED. It truly worked with NO oil. At least at the beginning. I just had to throw it out because everything kept sticking it out after several years. But I don't think I kept it conditioned right. You kind of had to treat it like a cast iron skillet.0

If you want to cook say eggs with no oil, I love the Eggtastic. You use it in the microwave. I've seen some really cool microwave steamers for fish/veggies, etc. at Sur le Tab recently.0

Did they scratch up? Do you still need to use plastic utensils on them?0 -

It doesnt LOOK scratched at all, and I only use wood or plastic utensils on it. Of course that doesnt mean that well-meaning roommates couldnt have taken some kind of abrasive scrub brush to it while helping with dishes. Part of me hopes that is the case, since I no longer live with roommates I know I would be able to maintain them better this time around.0 -

Can you mix vege's with the egg in the Eggtastic? I like to have onions and green pepper and sometimes leftover fried potato with my scrambled egg in the morning0 -
Look for a good non stick pan....we have several and don't need to add anything for eggs...
Have ceramic pan and hate it...

Sorry I am sounding stupid but do you think you could give me some suggestions? Maybe I am wrong but I think most varieties of non stick cookware works well to start with but I am looking for longevity also.

I wish I could use a cast iron but told you couldn't on glass cook top. It would overheat the burner causing it to shut off
