My biggest fear is being unhealthy and my life ending too soon. I'm a healthy person, but unfortunately I have genetics working against me. I inherited obesity from both of my parents and diabetes from my dad, but the diabetes I got under control when I was 14 and haven't needed medication and have had healthy blood sugar levels since. But unfortunately, my weight has been my curse. I teach my kids to go for the apple or banana when hungry, dessert only happens once a day and it's only like 1-2 cookies, and to drink lots of water as well as play because I know genetics won't be great to them either. But my problem is despite how healthy I eat and try to exercise I still remain obese. While I know my body shape will always be curvy, I'm afraid of getting too big and being so dependent on medication in the future. Does anybody else have this worry?

You can get it under control. You have to make a life change. Research eating healthy. Move more. Take the kids for a walk everyday. They live what they learn. You have the power to change your lives. Pretty impowering ! You may fall but don't ever give up. Good luck on your family's journey.0

I don't have the hereditary issues you do but I went from never having g to worry about what I ate and gaining a lb , but I also worked out constantly then I got very sick , couldn't go to the gym anymore, do home exercise, nothing .could barley get off the couch. Now that it's semi under control but life long I'm 60 lbs more then I ever weighed and can't seem to lose it. Age fighting against me too. I decided to do CIZE from beachbody since my back is just one messed up issue I have and can't do my old normal workouts.my balance is screwed amounh other things which makes alot of workouts hard. It's been great in getting me in shape. I lost 8 1/2 inches in 4 weeks 13 lbs. It's great for kids to do with you if you like to dance. If you don't know how you'll learn. It's fun and better get you get in shape. Sounds like something you and y I ur kids could enjoy and help you out in the weight dept. I'm loving it. I do think dread getting up to do it . I want too. Good luck!0

@HealthyMamaHardy2012 for much of my life I had the same concern. As @pds06 posted keep up your research. When in 2014 at the age of 63 I realized my time was getting short I finally decided I was in control of what went into my mouth and not some craving. Two years later at 65 my health and health markers are better than at 45 and I expect both will be better when I am 70. I know what is working for me life as to my Way Of Eating but am clueless as to what will work for you. You have arrived at a point where there is real hope. We do not inherit obesity. We can inherit traits, bad eating habits, etc. but our genes are under our control more than I realized. My genes set me up for Ankylosing Spondylitis and it has been 40 years of suffering UNTIL I found a Way Of Eating that took way most of the pain and side effects of Rx meds over the years. Yes I stare at the ground when I walk but now I have hope for the future unlike two years now.
Best of success. You are a strong person because you have already addressed health concerns head on. Keep up the great job.0
