Hi,
I just bought a Misfit Shine activity tracker. I really like the way it feels compared to my Fitbit HR. However, I've only taken 565 steps so far, and on the app it has my calories at 1775! How is this possible (it's not) am I missing something in how they determine your calorie count?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

I too use a misfit shine. Now I tend to ignore the calories on there. I think it adds in your basic calories for being alive!

I do get really excited tho when I get an activity trophy.

Do the other features seem to be accurate?

I've had mine for over a year, and I find it to be pretty close to my estimated TDEE (the calorie number it gives you is NOT just for calories burned but also includes BMR). Look at your exercise and see what your full-day calorie projection is. If it's way off from what other TDEE calculators are saying, maybe double check your settings to make sure that your height/weight are accurate and that you're automatically tagging as walking and not running, swimming, tennis, etc.

I use it in conjunction with my manual entries on MFP. My use is to get me to move more everyday. It's ok for that.
