That is great. According to trendweight, I lost 0.9 pounds in the last month!

How tall are you and how much do you weigh? This context matters.

healthy weight loss is about 1-2 pounds per week (depending on how much you have to lose...those with more to lose like me, can stand to lose a touch more) but it is 1-2 pounds per week ... so 5 pounds in a month sounds about right.

Great loss! Don't be discouraged or let tv shows influence how much weight you think you should lose in any given time period. Remember, we didn't put the weight on in a week, and we can't expect to take it off in a week either. Congrats and keep going!

So at that rate you will have lost over 4 stone in a year. How much are you wanting to lose?

That's a pound a week. Take it! Own it! Celebrate it! And hey, it's better than a gain. :)

I love that! Better than gaining. You have accomplished two things, losing weight AND not gaining!

If you think about it you wouldn't say "I only gained 5 lbs in a month" if you did. 5 lbs a month is 60lbs down in a year at that rate. Keep up the great work.

1 lb a week is a good healthy rate of weight loss.
The things you are doing wrong are your expectations of losing more in 30 days and using the words only 5 lbs.

5 lbs in a month is fantastic progress. What exactly was your expectation?

Rate of loss is going to depend on how tall you are, and how much you currently weigh. A 300lb dude can easily lose a bunch of weight in a month but a 150lb girl is going to go slower. That same 300lb dude would see it slow down the lower he goes as well.

That averages out to about a 1lb/wk... that's a perfectly healthy weight loss rate, imho! Weight loss isn't always the super quick, rapid process TV and movies make it out to be. 1lb/wk = 52lbs/year! Keep up the great work :)

5 lbs in a month is AMAZING progress. I don't understand your use of the word "only" right before the word "lost" here.

I honestly never have lost weight sucessfully before I am just trying to still gague what I'm doing wrong and right so I can keep making good decisions.
